Massa: "Vertrouwen dat we de problemen hebben opgelost"

Het team van Williams voelt de hete adem van Force India, de nummer vijf in het kampioenschap, in de nek. Waar Williams afgelopen twee seizoenen nog als derde eindigde bij de constructeurs is het dit jaar minder competitief. Ferrari kwam vorig jaar al voorbij en ook Red Bull Racing lijkt dit seizoen te sterk voor de mannen uit Grove. Coureur Felipe Massa laat echter weten dat het team een bak met nieuwe onderdelen zal proberen in de trainingen en niet dezelfde fouten zal maken als de vorige twee races.

Massa, die voor volgend jaar nog niet onder pannen is, laat het volgende weten aan de verzamelde pers in Hongarije: "De afgelopen races waren erg lastig. We hadden soms geen idee waar we mee bezig waren. We hebben de situatie grondig geanalyseerd en denken de oplossing gevonden te hebben. Bovendien hebben we flink wat nieuwe onderdelen die ons weer wat competitiever moeten maken zodat we onze positie bij de constructeurs vast kunnen houden."

Massa is in bezit van een aflopend contract bij het team van Williams. De Braziliaan, die sinds 2002 in de Formule uitkomt, lijkt zich niet al te druk te maken: "Het moge duidelijk zijn dat ik ook volgend jaar in deze sport actief wil zijn. Dat kan bij Williams zijn, maar ook bij een ander competitief team. Iedereen kent me en ze weten wat ik in mijn mars heb."
