Nico Rosberg: "Tempo uitstekend en uitermate blij met mijn nieuwe contract"

Na de teleurstellend verlopen Grand Prix van Groot-Brittannië begon Mercedes-coureur met een glimlach op het gezicht aan het Grand Prix-weekend op de Hungaroring. De Duitser werd voor de eerste training bevestigd als Mercedes-coureur voor de seizoenen 2017 en 2018. Rosberg is blij met de contractverlenging en de prestaties van zijn auto op de eerste dag.

"In alle opzichten is dit een fijne dag voor mij. Het voelt erg goed om ook volgend jaar en het jaar erna te mogen racen voor dit fantastische team. Ik ben erg blij met mijn nieuwe contract. In de auto was het ook een mooi dag. We kenden geen problemen en het tempo was uitstekend. We hebben een mooie buffer ten opzichte van de concurrentie, hopelijk kunnen we dit vasthouden", aldus Rosberg na de tweede vrije training.
