De Formule 1 is na een jaartje afwezigheid weer terug in Duitsland. Ter promotie van de Duitse Grand Prix op de Hockenheimring kwamen thuisrijders Nico Rosberg, Nico Hülkenberg en Pascal Wehrlein eerder dit jaar samen op het circuit. Mercedes had voor wat racewagens gezorgd om te vieren dat de Formule 1 weer naar Duitsland komt en dan is dit het resultaat.
