Sachsenring ongeschikt voor een Formule 1-race

De verhalen dat de Sachsenring volgend jaar de Grand Prix van Duitsland zou kunnen organiseren berusten niet op waarheid. Auto Bild meldde dit weekend dat Bernie Ecclestone zijn zinnen had gezet op een race op het MotoGP-circuit in plaats van de Hockenheimring en de Nürburgring.

Sachsenring-directeur Ruben Zeltner weet echter van niks doet die suggestie in de Leipziger Volkszeitung af als onzin. "Onze baan is niet geschikt voor de Formule 1. We zouden miljoenen aan investeringen en renovaties nodig hebben. Wie gaat dat risico dragen?"

De Hockenheimring heeft nog een contract voor een Formule 1-race in 2018. Zoals het er nu naar uitziet ontbreekt Duitsland volgend jaar weer op de kalender.

    Sachenring is een prachtige baan. Maar idd niet voor F1. Echter voor MotoGP wel prachtig. Net als Assen. Die is ook niet F1 geschikt helaas.

    De sachsenring is geen F1 circuit. Ze hebben wel met de FIM een nieuw Moto gp contract afgesloten tot en met 2021. Assen heeft een contract t/m 2026.

    Jammer...vind het een leuk baantje. Zandvoort is veel te smal en komt de F1 voorlopig ook niet. Dan maar naar Oostenrijk...

      Oostenrijk, die baan ligt toch wat afgelegen? Hungaroring is leuk en Boedapest ook. Gezellige sfeer zowel op de baan als in het centrum van de stad. Alleen na afloop een beteje weining bussen. Gewoon een taxi nemen met en met een paar mensen delen.

    Weet je wat een mooi circuit zal zijn (beetje als Interlagos) dat is het infield circuit van de Lausitzring. Zeker voor de bezoekers zeer interessant op de hoofdtribune is het circuit 100% te overzien en de faciliteiten op het circuit zelf zijn zeer goed. De faciliteiten rond het circuit moeten wel beter qua hotels etc.

    Sterker nog, zelfs voor een 500cc wedstrijd (twee tact MotoGP) was het al een Mickey Mouse baantje, waar zelfs de twee cilinders een kans hadden om goed te presteren.

    het is zeer jammer dat een mooie baan voor motorfietsen wordt aangepast voor autoraces.
