McLaren en Mercedes steggelen over engineer

De teams van McLaren en Mercedes zijn in een juridisch conflict over een engineer verwikkeld geraakt. Dat berichten Spaanse media als El Mundo Deportivo en Marca. Het gaat om Loic Serra, op dit moment nog Head of Vehicle Dynamics bij Mercedes.

McLaren zou erin geslaagd zijn om Serra vast te leggen. Daarop ondernam Mercedes een laatste poging om de engineer over te halen om toch te blijven, met succes. McLaren beschouwt dat als contractbreuk en onderneemt juridische stappen.

Mercedes-motorsportbaas Toto Wolff liet niks los over de kwestie, behalve dat Serra nog voor Mercedes werkzaam is. En een woordvoerder van McLaren verklaarde: "Deze kwestie is nu een juridische zaak en pas als het proces is afgerond kunnen we commentaar geven."

    Kun je hieruit concluderen dat MB een beetje bang is voor kennisoverdracht?

    Een tijd geleden ook al met RBR. Dat is onderling geschikt. Was volgens mij iets met inkorten gardening leave van Peter Prodromou.

    McLaren staat bekend om hun goede legal team en de daar uitvloeiende waterdichte contracten en zullen dus wel gelijk krijgen. MB heeft geld zat om de schadevergoedingen voor Serra te betalen.

    Maar al met al is het niet netjes zoals de topteams de laatste tijd handelen met personeelswisselingen.

    of Loic Serra heeft eerst getekend en daarna zijn baan opgezegd.
    ik zou als ik zo gewild was wel de gok durven te nemen om ze tegen elkaar uit te spelen en dan het beste contract te tekenen.

    niet helemaal slim gespeeld van die beste man.
    en kennis overdracht tja daar zal ie ook wel contracten voor hebben moeten tekenen

      Daarvoor heb je tegenwoordig half jaar verplicht tuinieren voor je bij een ander team mag beginnen. Tenzij tussen de teams anders wordt afgesproken.

    Niet erg netjes van deze Loic Serra. Personen zoals deze en Paddy Lowe moet je niet eens in je team hebben willen.

      Weet niet of het sarcastisch is maar je klinkt als Ron Dennis destijds. Hoewel ik fan van hem en McLaren ben zie ik niet in waarom engineers niet naar een ander team mogen verkassen. Dit gebeurt zoveel en Lowe was daar één van.

      Tenzij je het natuurlijk zoals deze meneer Serra speelt, dat is niet netjes.

      @Mika Ik ben van mening dat je mensen nodig hebt die voor je door het vuur willen gaan. Mensen die voor jouw team kiezen om het beste in zichzelf naar boven te halen én in het bedrijf. Personen die dan 16 jaar bij je in dienst zijn, en zoveel kansen hebben gehad om door te groeien, vertrekken bij de eerste zak geld die ze krijgen en al jouw bedrijfsgeheimen meenemen naar de concurrent heb je als team niet nodig. Die hebben hun hart niet zitten waar het zou moeten. Maar dat is mijn mening.

      Ach, de loyalitiet van een werknemer is zeer nobel en bewonderenswaardig.
      Maar als ze jou morgen, vanuit de concurrentie, benaderen met een vet contract en extra voordelen zou je wss ook tekenen.

      We hebben allemaal rekeningen te betalen. En dat wat overschiet doet ons leven...dus hoe meer overschiet...
