België de eerste race van Jost Capito bij McLaren

Jost Capito is bezig aan zijn laatste maand in dienst bij Volkswagen. De motorsportdirecteur verruilt het Duitse merk spoedig voor het team van McLaren-Honda. Zijn komst werd begin dit jaar al aangekondigd, maar de zoektocht naar een geschikte vervanger duurde langer dan verwacht.

Capito is nu zover dat hij Volkswagen met een gerust hart achter kan laten. Bij de WRC-rally van Duitsland verkondigde hij: "Ja, ik stop eind augustus bij Volkswagen." Marca claimt dat Capito volgende week al met McLaren meereist naar de Belgische Grand Prix.

Over zijn vervanger bij Volkswagen zijn nog geen details bekend. Merkambassadeur Luis Moya: "Ik heb er niets over gehoord. Het is ook het beste dat het geheim gehouden wordt."
