Jeroen Bleekemolen volgend jaar in LMP2-bolide

Jeroen Bleekemolen rijdt in 2017 weer voor het team van Ben Keating. Hij verruilt wel de GTD-klasse voor de Prototype-klasse in het Amerikaanse IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. Keating heeft een gloednieuwe Riley Mk.30 LMP2-bolide aangeschaft voor volgend seizoen.

Daarmee komt zijn team in aanmerking voor een startbewijs voor de 24 uur van Le Mans. Bleekemolen vertelt aan RTL GP: "Ik ben erg blij dat ik Ben nog een seizoen als vaste teamgenoot zal hebben. We hebben samen al mooie successen behaald en ik kijk er naar uit om daar in de toekomst nog vele successen aan toe te voegen. Ben is een geweldige teamgenoot. Hij is echt snel en we hebben samen al vele overwinningen behaald."

"Ik weet hoeveel energie er in dit project is gestopt en ik ben dan ook blij dat ik de kans krijg om met deze auto te gaan racen. Le Mans is één van de grootste races van het jaar en het zou geweldig zijn om daar opnieuw met een door Multimatic Riley gebouwde auto en Ben te gaan racen. We zijn er klaar voor, en met onze ervaring zouden we er voor de overwinning moeten kunnen gaan."

      Ben het helemaal met je eens. Ik denk dat dit de Nederlandse coureur is die per seizoen de meeste kilometers aflegt op de racebaan.

      Daar heb je helemaal gelijk in.
      Hij heeft zelfs eens aangegeven dat hij minder hoeft te sporten dan veel andere coureurs.
      Dit omdat hij zo vaak aan het racen is dat hij daar zijn conditie mee kan trainen.

    De aandacht in Nederland die naar de autosport gaat, gaat naar Max en soms een potentieel nieuw toptalent.

    Er wordt heel vaak vergeten dat we buiten de F1 ook een aantal kneitergoede en internationaal gerespecteerde coureurs hebben zoals Peter Kox maar ook zeker Jeroen Bleekemolen.

    Vooral Jeroen rijdt volgens mij elk weekend bijna een race, mooi dat zijn stoeltje voor volgend jaar al weer rond is :)
