Jenson Button met brede glimlach na sterke kwalificatie

Jenson Button stond de pers met een brede glimlach te woord na de kwalificatie voor de Belgische Grand Prix. De ervaren Brit, alweer bezig aan zijn zeventiende Formule 1-seizoen, kwalificeerde zich in zijn McLaren-Honda op een keurige negende positie. Button is aangenaam verrast met het resultaat.

"Dit resultaat is veel beter dan verwacht. Vorig jaar waren we hier een seconde langzamer dan de rest, dit jaar gaat het een stuk beter hier. De upgrade van de motor helpt zeker en de balans van de auto is goed. Negende is zeker een plek wat we niet hadden verwacht, we kijken uit naar een mooie race!", aldus Button.

Zeker gezien de karakteristieken van het circuit een prima resultaat. Je kon duidelijk zien dat de McLaren bij gebrek aan vermogen het in sector 1 en in mindere mate sector 3 lieten liggen.
