Akkoord over nieuw contract Monza aanstaande

De Automobile Club d'Italia (ACI) en Bernie Ecclestone komen dit weekend in Monza bij elkaar om de laatste hand te leggen aan een nieuwe verbintenis voor de Italiaanse Grand Prix. Dat bericht brengt Autosport. Het huidige contract van Monza met de Formule 1 loopt na dit jaar af en de toekomst was lang onzeker, maar het ziet ernaar uit dat het toch nog goed komt.

De laatste politieke hordes zijn genomen en het is nu nog een kwestie van het opstellen van de contracten en handtekeningen zetten. Ecclestone verklaarde aan Autosport: "Het zou me verbazen als we nu geen overeenstemming bereiken." De details van het nieuwe contract voor de Grand Prix van Italië op Monza zijn nog niet bekend.

Ecclestone heeft in elk geval nog Imola achter de hand voor het geval dat hij er met Monza toch niet uitkomt. Imola sloot al een akkoord af als alternatieve gastheer voor de Formule 1-race. ACI-voorzitter Angelo Sticchi Damiani heeft echter een voorkeur voor Monza, waar de Italiaanse Grand Prix sinds 1950 elk jaar gehouden is, behalve in 1980. Toen maakte het evenement een uitstapje naar Imola.

    Ik zou nog even wachten tot na de race.
    Na Spa kunnen de tifosi Max' bloed wel drinken.
    Als er nare dingen gaan gebeuren hoeft Monza van mij niet meer zo nodig op de kalender.

      Emotie en Italianen he maar als er 1 bij is die wel normaal kan reageren van de Ferrari-fans en de beelden aan de binnenkant van de bocht gezien hebeen dan is het wel dat eerst de beide Ferrari's elkaar "uitschakelen" en dan komt Max pas erbij. Zo gauw kan ik het filmpje niet vinden.

      Doet er niet ter zake dat Vettel eerst Kimi aanrijd, het is Max zijn fout.....volgens de Ferrari fans dan he....

    Akelige dingen gebeuren is wel erg dramatisch. Het is geen voetbal, maar F1. Aanstaand weekend is iedereen alles al weer vergeten en gaan we verder met ons geliefd spelletje.

Bizar steil bovenaan, dat waren pas echt helden die daarop raceten vroeger. Je merkt wel dat het onderhoud (net als op bijv. Spa) minder wordt. Afgebladderde verf, veel onkruid, afgebrokkeld beton her en der. Maar de baan, de prachtige omgeving midden in het park en de sfeer die het uitstraalt zijn fenomenaal. Alleen al daarom moet zo'n race gewoon blijven. Je proeft de historie als je daar rondloopt. Ik ben vorig jaar bij de GP van Abu Dhabi geweest. Prachtig complex, alles superdeluxe en tiptop in orde maar uiteindelijk wel een stuk minder sfeer. Nee, zulke oldskoolbanen als Monza moeten gewoon blijven. En Bernie: geef ze een paar miljoen korting zodat er weer wat budget is om eea. wat op te knappen.

      Vorig jaar het hele weekend gaan kijken .. Monza is Magie ... Die sfeer daar in ongelofelijk, iedereen vriendelijk, lekker eten en drinken, prachtig circuit ... en de mogelijkheid om op vrijdag aan de achterste parking te wachten tot de piloten 1 voor 1 toekomen en je vervolgens selfies kan nemen met de helft van de grid .. Volgend jaar zeker en vast opnieuw! een aanrader voor elke F1 fan!
