Hockenheimring gaat graag in zee met Ecclestone

De leiding van het circuit van Hockenheim slaat graag de handen ineen met Bernie Ecclestone voor de Grand Prix van Duitsland. De Hockenheimring staat op de voorlopige Formule 1-kalender voor 2017, maar heeft nog geen contract om volgend jaar een race te organiseren.

De onderhandelingen met Ecclestone zijn gaande, waarbij de commerciële baas van de Formule 1 heeft voorgesteld dat hij de promotie van het evenement op zich neemt. In ruil daarvoor mag Hockenheim een gereduceerd tarief te betalen. Dat zien ze in Duitsland wel zitten.

Hockenheimring-baas Georg Seiler verklaarde aan persbureaus SID en DPA: "Dat zou een mooi model voor de toekomst zijn. De promotor is dan in feite huurder van het circuit en draagt de financiële risico's, zoals het hoort. Wij zijn zeer geïnteresseerd en we zijn er klaar voor."

"De onderhandelingen verlopen in gemoedelijke sfeer, maar sinds eind juli is de situatie verder niet echt veranderd. In oktober moeten we duidelijkheid hebben over een eventuele race in 2017. Ik weet niet wat onze kansen zijn, maar er is nog geen overeenkomst."

    Dus hij zal wel blij zijn met Max... zeker met wat controverse. Helpt alleen de aandacht voor de F1 en dus zal het meer publiek trekken.

      Ome Bernie weet ook wel dat Zandvoort bezig is met een GP te proberen organiseren. En hij weet ook wel dat het een onhaalbare kaart is; alleen al om de infrastructuur. En dus zet hij inderdaad in op zoveel mogelijk fans uit nederland naar zoveel mogelijk circuits te lokken zolang Max rondtuft in de F1.

      Een GP in Zandvoort zie ik ook nooit meer gebeuren.
      Als er weer een GP in Nederland komt, zal die ergens anders moeten worden gehouden. Een nieuw circuit ergens in Flevoland zou kunnen of anders is Assen wellicht een optie. Maar Zandvoort? Nee.

      Er komt never nooit meer een Nederlandse GP, kost veel te veel geld waar nul-komma-nul van terug komt. Als 'Oranje' zo nodig een F1 race op zijn circuit wil hebben gaat hij het zelf maar financieel haalbaar maken. Wat mij betreft geen Euro aan gemeenschapsgeld.

    Dan zijn we er dus bijna.... Want ik vind dat de circuits de handen ineen moeten slaan en hun circuits moeten verhuren aan de F1, die dan vervolgens zelf maar zorgen voor alles. De financiële risico's liggen dan ook bij de F1 en niet bij de circuits.
