CVC onderhandelt nog over verkoop F1-aandelen

De verhalen dat Liberty Media van miljardair John Malone het aandelenpakket in de Formule 1 van CVC Capital overneemt zijn voorbarig. Dat schrijft Autosport. Investeringsmaatschappij CVC onderhandelt namelijk nog met een tweede partij over de verkoop van de 35 procent van de aandelen Formule 1. Het zou gaan om RSE Ventures.

Het valt dan ook niet te verwachten dat morgen meer nieuws bekend wordt over een mogelijke nieuwe eigenaar voor de Formule 1. Liberty heeft 8,4 miljard geboden voor de aandelen van CVC. RSE Ventures onder aanvoering van Miami Dolphins-eigenaar Stephen Ross en met de steun van een consortium uit Qatar zou nog een tegenbod uit kunnen brengen.

Volgens de geruchten zou Chase Carey, momenteel vice-voorzitter bij 21st Century Fox, bij een overname door Liberty de teugels als Formule 1-voorzitter in handen krijgen. Ook voor Formule E-baas Alejandro Agag en marketingexpert Zak Brown zouden rollen weggelegd zijn in de koningsklasse van de autosport.

Dat ligt eraan... als ze de trend door blijven zetten en steeds meer $ willen van circuits én mediabedrijven, kunnen de laatste twee niet anders meer dan dat doorberekenen aan de consument.. Dus decoder en duurdere tickets..
En dit soort bedrijven hebben alleen als doel er zoveel uit te melken ... [Lees verder]

    Chase Carey, ik weet het niet... Het is wel een media man maar als dat betekend dat alles achter pay-tv komt, heb ik zo mijn twijfels.
    Kunnen ze niet iemand aanstellen die in ieder geval affiniteit heeft met de F1 als sport?

      Alles zit al achter pay-tv, daar hebben ze Chase Carey niet voor nodig. Het wordt met name ruim tijd dat er een streaming service komt waar je de grote massa oude content die de FIA angstvallig verborgen houdt on-demand kunt kijken.

      Idd AIII maar bv bij Ziggo krijg je het er gratis bij.. En ik kan me voorstellen dat dat in sommige andere landen misschien ook zo is. Maar idd, je hebt gelijk.
      Ik bedoel eigenlijk meer dat dan de kans dat álles achter een pay-service komt, groter wordt.

      Het moederbedrijf van UPC, het huidige Ziggo, is Liberty Media
      En Ziggo heeft juist veel nieuwe klanten weten te trekken (en bestaande klanten weerhouden van vertrek) door F1 achter de decoder vandaan te halen dit jaar en via kanaal 14 open-air aan te bieden in HD
      F1 gaat de komende jaren echt niet meer achter de decoder, ook dankzij Max natuurlijk

      En dit soort bedrijven hebben alleen als doel er zoveel uit te melken als het kan.. en dan weer verkopen. De sport (F1) moet op nr.1 staan, vind ik. En niet zoals al jaren (en de komende jaren) als middel voor de commercie

      @ALGARVE, maar als je het alleen kan zien als je een abonnement hebt bij Ziggo, dan zit het toch achter een decoder.

      @dumdumdum Geen kaart voor nodig, alleen een digitale ontvanger in of aan je tv of gewoon op de tablet/pc kijken. Dat laatste zelfs vanaf niet ziggo netwerken.
