Het is vandaag exact 46 jaar geleden dat Clay Regazzoni voor het eerst wist te winnen in de Formule 1. De Zwitser was op 6 september 1970 de sterkste in de Italiaanse Grand Prix op Monza. Het was pas zijn vijfde race in de koningsklasse van de autosport. In 132 Grand Prix-starts zou Regazzoni in totaal vijf keer winnen. Hij stond 28 maal op het podium. Regazzoni overleed in 2006 op 67-jarige leeftijd na een auto-ongeluk.
