Force India spreekt overnamegeruchten tegen

Het team van Force India staat niet op het punt om in handen van de Mexicaanse miljardair Carlos Slim te vallen. In Mexico circuleerden berichten dat de zakenman de Indiase renstal zou kopen, maar vice-teambaas Bob Fernley heeft dat tegenover James Allen ontkracht.

Slim is middels zijn bedrijven Telmex en Claro al bij Force India betrokken en zou besloten hebben om die betrokkenheid te vergroten. Volgens Fernley zijn de geruchten ongefundeerd en hebben er geen gesprekken over een overname met wie dan ook plaatsgevonden.

Force India is momenteel eigendom van Vijay Mallya, Subrata Roy en Michiel Mol.

    Het zou niet verkeerd zijn om TOCH met Slim te praten erover.
    Zodra het team in handen van Slim zou komen, heeft het team gelijk gigantische financiele mogelijkheden.

    Tot nu toe is Force India een team welke het ontzettend goed
    doet als je kijkt naar het budget en de grote van het team. Ze zijn enorm efficiënt
    met de middelen die ze hebben. Echter, het team zit ook al jaren tegen het limiet
    aan te hikken van wat het kan bereiken. Om het team op te werken naar een volgend
    niveau, dan zou een groter budget (welke onder Slim bijna oneindig zal zijn) daar flink bij helpen. De manier waarop het nu gaat, gaat het prima.. maar zal het geen top 3 team worden.

    By the way... zouden ze het bij een overname dan Force Mexico gaan noemen ? :p
    Laat ze de Lotus of Brabham naam dan maar gelijk kopen, dan krijgen we weer een mooie naam in het veld.

      Dat zou inderdaad best Slim zijn. Er zullen vast wel gesprekken zijn geweest hoor, of wellicht lopen deze nog steeds.

      Lotus valt onder Renault en het namenrecht dat Fernandes gebruikte was omdat hij dat recht had. Geen idee waar die rechten nu liggen, mar het is dus niet logisch om die te kopen.

      Verder is het feit dat Slim zich inkoopt of de boel overneemt, geen garantie voor het feit dat ze ook meer geld krijgen. Ook moet je gewoon Mallya aan de leiding willen, aangezien het zijn beleid is geweest waarmee de juiste menseen op de juiste plekken terecht zijn gekomen en hoe ze met beperkte middelen nog steeds goed weten te presteren.

      Niets zegt dat met meer geld ze op een hoger niveau dezelfde efficiëntie kunnen laten zien en dus per definitie sneller worden.

      Overigens zou meer geld an sich natuurlijk wel helpen bij de financiële problemen die ze hebben. Maar Slim staat niet bekend als iemand die degelijk beleid aanhoudt. Het is gewoon met veel geld zaken kopen en vervolgens daar het geld aan onttrekken. Met sport heeft dit niet zo veel te maken. De F1 kost in principe alleen maar geld. Zeker een team als Force India dat verder geen faciliteiten inzet voor andere activiteiten.

      Hoe dan ook, persoonlijk zou ik liever zien dat ze gewoon extra sponsoren weten te scoren, en op die manier door groeien, onder mensen die daadwerkelijk wat om de sport geven.

    Bij Slim draait het enkel en alleen om de winst, ik denk daarom niet dat hij het budget van force india flink zal opschroeven.
    Het moet nl. wel allemaal terug verdiend worden.
    De reden dat hij zo veel geld heeft is natuurlijk niet omdat het zo'n gulle en sociaal betrokken persoon is, hij is gewoon een keiharde zakenman en ik twijfel of dat voor force india een goede zet zou zijn.
