Video: Caterham ziet auto in vlammen op gaan in Singapore

Volgend weekend wordt alweer voor de achtste keer de Grand Prix van Singapore verreden. Sinds de eerste race in 2008 is het circuit door de straten van het stadsdeel Marina Bay een populair evenement bij rijders, teams en fans. Door de jaren heen hebben races in Singapore al aardig wat spektakel opgeleverd.

Zo ook in 2010: Heikki Kovalainen kwam dat jaar uit voor het nieuwe team van Caterham, dat in 2010 nog als Lotus F1 door het leven ging. Het team kende een lastig eerste seizoen, waarbij zowel de snelheid als de betrouwbaarheid nog niet op orde waren. Ook in Singapore ging het mis. De auto van Kovalainen vatte vlam op het rechte stuk en de Fin moest zelf een brandblusser ritselen om de schade nog enigzins te beperken.
