Heineken beschouwt F1-sponsoring als huwelijk

Zichtbaarheid en nieuwe energie zijn sleutelbegrippen voor de Formule 1-sponsoring door Heineken. Dat verklaarde Gianluca di Tondo, directeur van de bierbrouwer, in gesprek met Formula1.com. Heineken beklonk de sponsoring van de Formule 1 voorafgaand aan de Grand Prix van Canada. Sindsdien heeft het biermerk zich al op diverse manieren onderscheiden, zoals via commercials met oud-coureurs of de Champions of the Grid-voetbalwedstrijd in Monza.

Di Tondo over de eerste maanden in de Formule 1: "Wat me meteen te binnen schiet, is opwinding. Er is veel nieuwe energie. We zijn aan het leren en we leren zo snel als we kunnen, maar er is ook een hoop om te leren. We hebben al twee aardige campagnes geïnitieerd en we kunnen wel stellen dat onze hele organisatie zich achter de Formule 1 heeft geschaard. Des te zichtbaarder we zijn, des te meer opgewonden onze medewerkers raken en ze er onderdeel vanuit willen maken."

"De Formule 1 en de Champions League zijn complementair aan elkaar. De Champions League was al sterk in Europa en wij hebben eraan bijgedragen dat het nu ook in Afrika en in Azië leeft. De Formule 1 is juist weer sterk in Azië en Noord-Amerika. Beide disciplines spreken verschillende doelgroepen aan, dat is waarom we beide doen. De Formule 1 biedt ons een globaal platform om 300 miljoen potentiële nieuwe Heineken-klanten te bereiken."

"De Grand Prix-weekenden zijn groter dan alleen de races, dat is de boodschap die wij uit willen dragen. Er bestaat een gat tussen de paddock, de Paddock Club en de fans. Wij zien het als onze taak om bruggen te slaan. We willen continu nieuwe content over de Formule 1 creëren. We hebben een idee dat we in Brazilië uit willen proberen, dat bespreken we binnenkort met Bernie Ecclestone. 2016 is een opwarmertje, een leerjaar, en we verzamelen nu al goede ideeën voor de komende jaren."

"We werken al vijftien jaar samen met de UEFA. Daar hebben we van geleerd dat we voor de Formule 1 niet aan twee of drie jaar moeten denken, maar aan de lange termijn. Het is net als een huwelijk, je moet elkaar door en door kennen. Natuurlijk beleef je soms moeilijke momenten, maar daar word je alleen maar sterker van. Het tweede punt is dat we alles open en bloot willen bespreken met de leiding van de Formule 1, om er zeker van te zijn dat onze wensen overeenkomen."

Di Tondo had ook nog wel een ideetje voor een mogelijke nieuwe Grand Prix op de Formule 1-kalender. "Dan denk ik weer aan Azië, namelijk Vietnam. We zijn daar vertegenwoordigd via een lokale partner en wij hadden hen te gast tijdens het weekend op Monza. Ze vonden het prachtig! Dus waarom zouden we niet gaan racen in Ho Chi Minh City?"

Als je Vietnam zou willen helpen, bljif dan weg met de F1 , Heineken die zet ze eigen markt maar zelf uit in Vietnam.

Vind het wel gaaf om te zien dat een hollands merk zich zo verbindt aan de f1. Is goed voor nederland lijkt mij. Jammer dat ze het eigen.land vergeten . Een race in nederland volledug gesponserd door heiniken zou mooi zijn.

  Zou gaaf zijn, al zie ik het niet gebeuren.... Assen of Zandvoort moet gewoon dusdanig veel aan gebeuren, en dan komt het contract nog om uberhaupt wat te organiseren.

  Het enigste wat Nederlands is de naam Heineken , het idee en sponsenring van de formule1 komt van Heineken kantoor in Madrid in Spanje ( Edificio Monteolmo ) de sponsoring voor de voetbal wordt ook daar geregeld , het geld komt via Asia Pacific bedrijven.

  Waarom zit Heineken in de F1? Om zich te laten zien. Daarvoor hoeven ze niet naar Nederland, daar kent iedereen ze al. En met een race in Belgie en als het goed is in Duitsland zitten ze daar dichtgenoeg bij als ze het toch nodig vinden. Voor hun is een spreiding over de wereldkaart belangrijker. Ik zou me kunnen voorstellen dat een race in Zuid Afrika bijvoorbeeld ook een stuk interessanter voor ze is.

Inderdaad, de tribunes zitten vol... Mensen staan in de rij om er naar toe te gaan.
Man o man... Die heeft zijn PR praatje wel klaar...Hoezo sterk? Ja tov van UEFA. Maar als hij een beetje nadenkt is in Noord Amerika F1 sponsoren niet de redden. Kan hij beter IRL en Cricket doen. Komt hij verder mee...

  Drankorgel, van teveel heineken raak je ook aan de racekak en dan is het geen leuke constatering dat wanneer je 's maandagmorgens om 8.15 uur op het circuit de tent uit kruipt tot de ontdekking komt dat de toiletten al zijn afgevoerd.

Onzalig idee van mijnheer di Tondo. Geheel ontsproten uit een marketingtechnische gedachtengang. Het land is straatarm en het beetje geld wat er is zou men niet moeten spenderen aan een geldvreetmachine als de F1.
