'Mercedes-duo laat ongemakkelijke stiltes vallen'

Een Formule 1-podium is natuurlijk een topprestatie voor een coureur. Alleen komt het er niet van om er echt van te genieten zodra je als rijder het ereschavot deelt met Mercedes-coureurs Nico Rosberg en Lewis Hamilton. Deze twee kemphanen voeren een soort Koude Oorlog in hun onderlinge strijd voor de titel. Daardoor vallen achter de schermen vaak ongemakkelijke stiltes.

Dat onthulde Red Bull Racing-coureur Daniel Ricciardo, die in Singapore met Hamilton en Rosberg naar het podium mocht, in gesprek met Sky Sports. "Het mooiste is als je met die twee naar de prijsuitreiking gaat. In de kamer voor het podium doe je je helm af en dan is het altijd zo raar voor mij omdat het zo stil is. Ik hou niet zo van stilte dus probeer ik tegen mezelf te praten of een gesprek aan te knopen met hen, maar zij genieten van die pijnlijke stiltes, lijkt het. Het is wel grappig."

Rosberg is sinds zijn overwinning in Singapore weer de leider in de stand om het kampioenschap. Met acht punten voorsprong op Hamilton vervolgt de Duitser volgende week de jacht op zijn eerste wereldtitel. Er zijn dit seizoen nog zes races te gaan.

    Dat valt op de TV ook altijd op... de 3e coureur heeft met 1 van de 2 een conversatie en meer zit er niet in..

      Haha, geweldig toch. Dat is wat ik wil zien, in plaats van vijanden die elkaar behandelen als vrienden vanwege het feit dat de camera op hun staat gericht.

      Als hij wint praat Hamilton in ieder geval nog met de niet-mercedes coureur die het podium heeft gehaald. En al helemaal als die 2e is geworden.

      Nu baalde hij van die 3e plek.

      Volgens mij moet een je een beetje een asshole zijn om een goede coureur te worden. Kijk naar Max, die heeft ook maling aan de gevestigde orde. Ik vind het tof maar die mening heeft lang niet idereen!

      @MAUZ, Niet te hard hier zeggen, want velen hier vinden dat je niet boven het maaiveld moet komen. Zijn allemaal gematigde mensen hier, behalve wanneer ze kritiek kunnen geven op Hamilton haha

    Idd, @ buuts.. Helemaal gelijk, Hamilton kijkt als ie niet wint nog zuurder dan een hele zak zure matten van Look O Look..
    Die attitude is niet te pruimen man, geen vrienden ok maar je professionele houding tonen Hó maar.

    Lewis houd zich nu in , maar wat zij Ric misschien is hij vergeten dat hij zelf 6 maanden bijna niet te genieten was toen hij geen eerste werd, en 20 artikels in 1 week erover ging.
    Echte winnaars zijn nu eenmaal echotrippers.

      En om effe verder te zeiken, Lewis houdt zich in! ... maar wat zei Ric :" ... En het is "een andere beschrijving VOOR iets".
      Ik zal niet verder vertellen dat je geen komma zet na een voegwoord en over echotrippers ga ik me ook niet druk maken. Over één ding moet ik je wel gelijk geven, je moet idd een beetje een egotripper zijn om de mentaliteit te hebben van een winnaar. Voor de rest is 't allemaal media :) cheers John!

    Stiltes? Dat is mij nooit opgevallen. Lewis zie ik altijd in een hoek van de kamer met zijn gezicht naar de muur zijn haartjes föhnen en dan zoomt de cameraman zo diep in dat het een geraas van jewelste is met die föhn. En Nico slobbert meestal lekker door zijn rietje aan een wortelsapje om zijn mooie meisjesgezicht kreukvrij te houden. Ik herken hem alleen niet meer als hij de komkommerschijven op zijn ogen legt net voor het podiumritueel. Of toch wel, want Nico is het dus met die komkommerschijven. Nee hoor, niets mis met gebrek aan geluid in de kamer door een föhn en een groentehakmachine. En Ricciardo hè, praat en lacht heel veel en maakt ook lekker veel geluid.
