Norris verovert titel in Formule Renault Eurocup

Lando Norris heeft zich dit weekend op Spa-Francorchamps tot kampioen in de Formule Renault 2.0 Eurocup gekroond. De 16-jarige Brit won niet in de Belgische Ardennen, maar door een derde en een tweede plaats is hij niet meer te achterhalen door de concurrentie.

Het is sowieso een mooi jaar voor Norris. Aan het begin van 2016 won hij al de titel in de Toyota Racing Series, een kampioenschap dat zich in Nieuw-Zeeland afspeelt. En in de Formule Renault 2.0 is hij nu de beste in de Eurocup, terwijl hij ook de stand in het Noord-Europees kampioenschap aanvoert. Vorig jaar schreef hij al het MSA Formula-kampioenschap - het Brits Formule 4-kampioenschap - op zijn naam. Norris timmert stevig aan de weg.
