Het is vandaag exact negen jaar geleden dat Kimi Raikkonen zijn eerste en tot nu toe enige wereldtitel in de Formule 1 veroverde. Voor Ferrari won de Fin op 21 oktober 2007 de Grand Prix van Brazilië en dat was voldoende om de twee rivalen van McLaren af te troeven. Lewis Hamilton reisde in zijn debuutjaar in de Formule 1 als leider en favoriet af naar Sao Paulo en ook diens teamgenoot Fernando Alonso stond er beter voor dan Raikkonen. Toch was het de Ferrari-coureur die met het kampioenschap aan de haal ging.

Je kunt ook alles kapot relativeren natuurlijk, ik was enorm blij voor Kimi. Een coureur van zijn kaliber, verdiend het om een keer weredkampioen te mogen worden.
