Sauber wil line-up voor seizoensslot rond hebben

Het team van Sauber heeft geen haast met de invulling van de stoeltjes voor volgend seizoen. Op dit moment rijden Marcus Ericsson en Felipe Nasr voor de Zwitserse renstal. Het stoeltje van Ericsson lijkt aardig veilig gezien zijn banden met nieuwe eigenaar Longbow Finance en de miljoenen van Banco do Brasil, de sponsor van Nasr, zijn ook zeer welkom in Hinwil.

Het is echter geen uitgemaakte zaak dat beiden blijven. Sauber-teambaas Monisha Kaltenborn liet weten: "Ik denk niet dat we op korte termijn iets kunnen aankondigen. De tijd dat iedereen de line-up voor het volgende seizoen bij de Hongaarse Grand Prix al rond heeft is voorbij. Ons doel is om onze rijders voor 2017 voor het einde van het seizoen bekend te kunnen maken. We hebben niet heel veel tijd meer, maar het gaat allemaal de goede kant op."

Sauber rijdt volgend jaar in elk geval met de 2016-specificatie Ferrari-motoren. De Zwitserse renstal is doorgaans een van de laatste teams om de line-up voor het komende seizoen te presenteren. Daar wil Kaltenborn nu mee breken.
