Voor Carlos Sainz Jr. verliep de derde vrije training niet optimaal, de Spanjaard kreeg maar liefst twee keer een lekke band. Bij de tweede keer uitte Carlos Sainz Jr. zijn frustraties over de boordradio. De bandenfabrikant laat na de training weten dat de lekke banden bij de Toro Rosso van Sainz Jr. te wijten zijn aan externe factoren en niet aan de banden.
