Lewis Hamilton: "Dit voelt geweldig!"

Lewis Hamilton behaalde zijn eerste pole op het Circuit of the Americas. De Brit was bijna drie tiende sneller dan kampioenschapsleider en teamgenoot Nico Rosberg. Hamilton is tevreden met zijn prestaties en kijkt uit naar de race van morgen.

"Het voelt geweldig om hier pole position te pakken. Het heeft een aantal jaren geduurd voordat me dat gelukt is op dit circuit. Dank aan het publiek dat hier in grote getale aanwezig is en zeer enthousiast is. Ik kon ze zelfs horen vanuit mijn auto. Ik ben positief voor morgen. We hebben hard gewerkt de afgelopen tijd en ga alles geven morgen. We hebben veel geoefend op de starts, die gingen allemaal goed!"
