In-season test verplaatst van Spanje naar Bahrein

De eerste in-season test vindt in 2017 niet plaats op het circuit van Barcelona, maar in Bahrein. Dat is het gevolg van het compromis dat de teams hebben gesloten over de tests van volgend jaar. De twee vierdaagse sessies ter voorbereiding op het seizoen zijn wel toebedeeld aan het Circuit de Catalunya.

De eerste test is van 27 februari tot en met 2 maart en de tweede test is van 7 tot en met 10 maart. In de week na de Grand Prix van Bahrein testen de teams en coureurs vervolgens twee dagen onder hete omstandigheden. Die in-season test is op 18 en 19 april.

Silverstone is volgend jaar net als dit seizoen gastheer voor een in-season test. Die staat voor 11 en 12 juli op het programma. De factory shutdown, de zomerstop waarin de fabrieken van de teams verplicht dicht moeten, is van 5 tot en met 18 augustus.

Dus gaan ze in Bahrein racen op banden die niet onder hete omstandigheden zijn getest. Maar hopen dat alles goed zal gaan.
