Frank Williams herstellende van longontsteking

Grote afwezigheden bij het team van Williams zijn de laatste tijd oprichter Sir Frank Williams en diens dochter Claire Williams. Frank Williams is herstellende van een longontsteking, die hij opliep in september. Om haar vader bij te staan is teambazin Claire Williams voorlopig ook niet aanwezig op de circuits.

Mike O'Driscoll, directeur van Williams, laat weten dat hij zowel Frank als Claire Williams over niet al te lange tijd terug verwacht in de paddock: "Het is vreemd dat Sir Frank Williams er nu niet bij is, iedereen mist hem. Hij heeft een longontsteking gehad en in het ziekenhuis gelegen. Sir Frank heeft een zware tijd gehad, maar is gelukkig aan de beterende hand. Hopelijk zien we hem snel weer op de fabriek en kan hij ook weer naar de circuits komen"

O'Driscoll liet verder weten dat hij Claire Williams in Abu Dhabi weer terug verwacht in de paddock.

Ik denk dat we er langzaam aan moeten gaan wennen dat Sir Frank steeds minder en wellicht zelfs nooit meer aanwezig zal zijn.
