Frank Williams hersteld van een longontsteking

Williams-oprichter en naamgever Frank Williams is uit het ziekenhuis. De teambaas van de Britse renstal kampte met een longontsteking, maar is daar nu volledig van hersteld. Dat maakte dochter Claire Williams bekend bij de presentatie van de rijders voor 2017.

"Het doet me deugd om te vermelden dat mijn vader het ziekenhuis heeft verlaten en weer thuis zit en op de fabriek komt. Hij kreeg na de Italiaanse Grand Prix op Monza last van een longontsteking, maar maandag is hij ontslagen uit het ziekenhuis waar hij sinds begin september verbleef."

"Het herstel heeft nog redelijk lang geduurd, maar ik ben verguld om te kunnen zeggen dat hij min of meer de oude Frank die we zo goed kennen en waar we zo van houden is. Het is geweldig om hem terug bij het team te hebben", aldus Claire Williams.
