Brawn open voor samenwerking met Ecclestone

Voor Ross Brawn vormt de aanwezigheid van Bernie Ecclestone geen belemmering om eventueel aan de slag te gaan in de leiding van de Formule 1. Liberty Media, de nieuwe eigenaar van de sport, heeft de voormalig technisch directeur van Ferrari en oud-teambaas van Mercedes gepolst voor een functie. Brawn zou het sportieve gedeelte voor zijn rekening moeten nemen.

Hoewel zijn relatie met Ecclestone niet geweldig is, zou dat geen obstakel voor een mogelijke samenwerking zijn. Brawn verklaarde aan BBC Sport: "Het zou een interessante combinatie zijn, maar voor mij zou het zeker geen probleem zijn. Op de dag dat Bernie stopt, zal er geen nieuwe Bernie opstaan. De structuur verandert en nu Liberty Media erin is gestapt wordt er veel gespeculeerd over hoe de dingen zich zullen ontvouwen."

"Mijn rol op dit moment is niets meer dan die van adviseur. Ik help Liberty om de Formule 1 te begrijpen en de aard en het karakter van deze sport te doorgronden. Op die manier kunnen ze beslagen ten ijs komen. Ik wil niet meer de leiding voeren over een team. Dat motiveert me niet meer. Wat me wel zou kunnen motiveren, is op een of andere manier bijdragen aan de toekomst van de Formule 1."

"Hoe de sport de uitdagingen die wachten kan tackelen en hoe de Formule 1 zich verder kan ontwikkelen, dat zijn vraagstukken waar ik me wel mee bezig wil houden. Dat kan in verscheidene rollen. Maar Bernie is de stalmeester en hij is degene die bepaalt hoe de dingen er de komende jaren uit zullen zien."

Het gaat precies zoals ik dacht, Bernie zijn tijd is toch ook bijna voorbij dat hij het voor het zeggen had.hij zal nog wel een beetje tegen sputteren.

Dit noemen ze een handreiking van Brawn.... Het wachten is op de reactie van Bernie, blijkbaar rommelt het toch wel een beetje achter de schermen bij Liberty ... Liberty wil Brawn een functie geven , Bernie zegt , ga maar een baantje bij de FIA zoeken... ha ha, géén vrindjes, die twee...

  Bernie, ziet het met niemand zitten, kost hem zijn alleenrecht, stel dat hij moet delen in de winst, dan draait Dagobert Ecclestone helemaal door, als je ziet, hoe hij Boekhoorn en van der Garde gefrustreerd heeft, alleen omdat ze zich niet lieten piepelen, schandalig!
