Sauber plukt Jörg Zander weg bij Audi LMP1

Jörg Zander is op de weg terug naar het team van Sauber. Dat bericht Auto Motor und Sport. Zander was eerder in 2006 als hoofdontwerper werkzaam in Hinwil. Halverwege 2007 stapte hij over naar het team van Honda. Sinds 2015 stond hij onder contract bij Audi.

Zander was Hoofd Technologie bij het LMP1-team van de Duitse autofabrikant in het World Endurance Championship. Audi kondigde recent echter aan de stekker uit het LMP1-project te trekken. Zander zal bij Sauber de functie van technisch directeur op gaan vullen.

Sauber is sinds de overname door Longbow Finance druk bezig met het recruteren van nieuw personeel. Eerder trok het team Xevi Pujolar (als Head of Track Engineering), Nicolas Hennel de Beaupreau (als Hoofd Aerodynamica) en Ruth Buscombe (als Strategy Engineer) aan.

Het gaat bij Sauber gelukkig weer de goede kant op, ze weten goeie namen aan zich te binden. Goed voor de sport en goed voor hen.
