Rossi en Speed naar Race of Champions in Miami

Voormalig Formule 1-coureurs Alexander Rossi en Scott Speed zijn op 21 en 22 januari van de partij bij de eerstvolgende editie van de Race of Champions. Die vindt plaats in Marlins Park in Miami. Rossi debuteerde dit jaar in de IndyCar en schreef prompt de Indy 500 op zijn naam. Speed prolongeerde dit seizoen zijn titel in het Red Bull Global Rallycross-kampioenschap.

Rossi: "Ik ben vereerd met deze uitnodiging voor de Race of Champions. Dit evenement geniet veel waardering omdat het de beste rijders uit diverse takken van auto- en motorsport bij elkaar brengt. De Race of Champions is altijd enorm competitief en ik verheug me al op de competitie. Het is leuk om het tegen mijn teamgenoot bij Andretti, Ryan Hunter-Reay, op te kunnen nemen. Ik kan beloven dat geen van ons twee zich in zal houden."

Speed: "Ik ben door het dolle heen met deze mogelijkheid om deel te nemen aan de Race of Champions. Amerika vertegenwoordigen in eigen land is een grote eer. Ik ben altijd een groot fan van dit evenement geweest. Zoveel talent uit de auto- en motorsport bij elkaar, dat zijn schaarse gebeurtenissen. Ik weet zeker dat Miami een goede gastheer zal zijn."
