Coureurs en Pirelli met elkaar in gesprek over regenbanden

Bandenleverancier Pirelli kreeg tijdens en na de Grand Prix van Brazilië flinke kritiek te verduren van de heren coureurs. Volgens veel coureurs werkten de regenbanden van de Italiaanse fabrikant niet goed op het natte Circuit Jose Carlos Pace. In Abu Dhabi zijn de coureurs om tafel gegaan met Pirelli om te praten over oplossingen.

Volgens veel coureurs waren de Safety Car en rode vlag situaties nodig in Brazilië omdat de veiligheid niet gegarandeerd kon worden. De baan was flink nat de banden konden het vele water niet verwerken. Carlos Sainz van Toro Rosso laat weten wat er zoal besproken is met Pirelli: "We hebben veel besproken, onze indrukken over de regenbanden gedeeld met Pirelli. We hebben het gehad over aquaplaning en suggesties aangedragen hoe de banden verbeterd zouden kunnen worden. We waren na Brazilië niet boos op Pirelli, we proberen samen met hun de juiste keuzes te maken. Dat helpt Pirelli de juiste banden te ontwikkelen."

Sainz liet verder weten dat hij begrip heeft voor de situatie van Pirelli. De fabrikant heeft de afgelopen jaren nauwelijks mogen testen met de banden en de tests die gedaan werden waren niet altijd representatief omdat er met een oude testauto werd gereden. Vanaf 2017 krijgt Pirelli meer mogelijkheden om te testen en krijgt het een actuele auto om die tests mee uit te voeren.

Lijkt me normaal dat de coureurs feedback geven aan Pirelli.
Laten we hopen dat er zakelijk en constructief is gesproken, laten we hopen dat een aantal coureurs hun tranen weer hebben bedwongen en zakelijk dingen hebben kunnen verwoorden.

Sainz gaat persoonlijk wel even vertellen aan Pirelli hoe je een band moet maken... tja ,nu komt het allemaal goed... Hahaha Het volstaat als je bij Pirelli de wens neerlegd dat de regenband onvoldoende werkt, water afvoert etc. en dus aangepast moet worden ....... Vermoedelijk zoeken naar profiel wat beter werkt...

  De schuld kunnen we wel een beetje toeschrijven aan de FIA, als een bandenfabrikant niet mag testen, verwacht dan ook niet dat er wat goeds uitkomt.

  bschuit@ Doe even normaal. Sainz heeft gewoon antwoord op de vragen gegeven die hem gesteld zijn. In het artikel staat ook dat de coureurs (meervoud) met Pirelli over de banden gesproken heeft en niet Sainz alleen. Hou is een keer op met dat kinderlijke gebash over Sainz. Dat zegt meer over jou dan over Sainz.

  Dat is niet helemaal waar. Ook Max heeft zijn bedenkingen aangegeven omtrent de regenbanden. Dat hij als één van de weinigen (Hamilton) er wel goed mee overweg kon is een ander verhaal.

Pirelli sucks, leg er een paar Michelins of Bridgestones onder, zo vanaf het schap en de heren zijn 3 sec per ronde in de regen sneller. Die Italianen zuigennenorm met hun rubber.

  Pirelli moet ook in staat worden gesteld om met een 2016 auto te testen natuurlijk. Afbranden is wel lekker makkelijk vanaf de zijlijn, dan moetje de FIA ook een schop geven die dat beter hadden moeten regelen imo.
