McLaren in gesprek met potentiële titelsponsors

Zak Brown is nog maar net begonnen met zijn werkzaamheden voor McLaren, maar de nieuwe directeur wil zo snel mogelijk zijn stempel drukken. Het is zijn missie om de Britse renstal voor 2018 een nieuwe titelsponsor te bezorgen. De eerste gesprekken zijn reeds gevoerd.

Brown deelde aan Marca mede: "Ik praat met veel mensen, maar de focus ligt op het strikken van een groot merk voor 2018. Om heel eerlijk te zijn, zijn de onderhandelingen al geopend, maar de onderhandelingen bevinden zich nog in een zeer vroeg stadium."

McLaren beschikte in 2013 voor het laatst over een titelsponsor. Telecomaanbieder Vodafone was toen nog aan de Britse renstal verbonden. Aan het eind van dat jaar maakte het bedrijf een einde aan de samenwerking met McLaren en sindsdien rijdt het team zonder titelsponsor.
