ORF stopt na 2019 met uitzenden van Formule 1

Oostenrijk is het volgende land waar de Formule 1 over een aantal jaar niet meer vrij toegankelijk te zien zal zijn. ORF bezit op dit moment nog de uitzendrechten. Dat contract loopt na 2019 af en de publieke zender moet bezuinigen.

De Formule 1 lijkt het kind van de rekening te worden. ORF-directeur Alexander Wrabetz deelde aan Wiener Zeitung mede: "Het schrappen van de rechten voor het skiën of de Bundesliga is geen optie voor ons, waardoor alleen de Formule 1 overblijft."

ORF telt jaarlijks 10 miljoen euro neer om de Grands Prix uit te mogen zenden.

doordat hij bij Ziggo zit, zitten de races dus al achter de decoder... dat jij het kan zien omdat je ziggo klant bent betekent niet dat het niet achter de decoder zit. Ik zelf kan namelijk geen ziggo nemen omdat er geen kabel bij ons in de straat ligt (en afgelegen woon ik niet eens). Ik ben dus ... [Lees verder]

      'GRAND PRIX STORY' bedoel je? Ik heb de in nederlands vertaalde edities van 1973 t/m 1987. Daarna hield het op en was het alleen nog maar in het duits...echt jammer want als het in het engels beschikbaar was dan had ik hem nog wel gekocht. Prüller was trouwens sinds de tijd van Jochen Rindt de vaste F1 commentator bij de ORF...kan Mol nog niet aan tippen zo lang.

    sky betaald volgens mij voor het engelse voetbal alleen al 5 miljard pond, 2016/19. En de contracten die daarop volgen zullen ze nog meer moeten betalen en dat is met de Formule 1 net zo. Dus publieke omroepen kunnen hier niet meer de concurrentie aangaan. En als dat geld nu ten goede komt van de breedtesport, of dat nu autosport of voetbal is zodat talenten de kans krijgen om te groeien dan kan ik het nog begrijpen. Maar dat gebeurt niet. Het gevolg is dat je als consument een pakket neemt die een zender aanbied. Dit pakket zal met de jaren steeds duurder worden en/of pakketten worden uitgehold of je betaald per zender. Het is niet voor niets dat Liberty media de formule 1 wil overnemen. Het word steeds meer een geld machine en niks anders.

      Tot men beslist dat het zoveel geld niet waard is... En nieuwe kijkers zich sowieso niet aanmelden want als het nergens "zomaar" te zien is, komen nieuwe kijkers er niet mee in aanraking. Domme, typisch super-kapitalistische, korte termijn denken.

    Gelukkig is het voor Nederland nog bij Ziggo en ik hoop dat het bij Ziggo blijft en niet achter decoder verdwijnt.

    Desondanks, als de prijs voor betaalde zender vrij laag is zal ik die toch wel nemen, lifgt dus aan de prijs.

    Als je kijkt nu aan hoeveel kijkers ziggo heeft tijdens een race, mag je toch wel stellen dat F1 hier populair is.

      ruim 1 mijoen kijkers per GP hoorde ik ... dat is mega voor Ziggo begrippen. Vind het dan ook niet meer dan normaal dat ze volgend jaar meer geld investeren in F1 .. die verbinding tussen Olav en Jack via Skype bv. is lachwekkend!

      Thuru, ik volg F1 al best lang! Ik ken nog de uitzendingen met een uur voor en nabeschouwing op de vrije zender. Toen nam onwijs de interesse af. Dat ze nu veel kijkers hebben komt puur en alleen door de toevoeging die Max is.

      Als de publieke omroepen het geld juist zouden besteden en niet ene Pauw, Chiel en rrrrrrrrr draait door en meer lieden met max de Balkenende norm zouden betalen dan.....IS er meer dan geld genoeg!
