Dieter Gass nieuwe motorsportbaas bij Audi

Audi heeft bekendgemaakt dat Dieter Gass vanaf 1 januari de functie van motorsportbaas zal bekleden. Hij volgt Wolfgang Ulrich, die tot eind 2017 als adviseur aan het merk verbonden blijft, op. Gass stond al als DTM-baas onder contract bij Audi.

"Ik krijg de kans om in de grote voetsporen van Wolfgang Ulrich te treden", opent Gass. "Hij heeft 23 jaar aan het roer gestaan bij Audi Sport en in die periode vele successen gevierd. De dertien zeges in de 24 uur van Le Mans springen er natuurlijk uit, naast de talloze zeges en titels in de toerwagens."

Ulrich: "Ik heb genoten van mijn 23 jaar bij Audi Sport. Nu is het de beurt aan Dieter Gass om het stokje over te nemen, hij zal Audi door deze overgangsfase heen leiden. Hij kent Audi Sport als geen ander en ik weet dat de autosporttak van Audi bij hem in veilige handen is."
