Todt: "Ferrari 10 procent minder dan Mercedes"

Ferrari gaf het voorbije seizoen tien procent toe op het dominante Mercedes. Dat oordeel velt voormalig teambaas Jean Todt, tegenwoordig voorzitter van de internationale autosportbond FIA. Ferrari sloot dit jaar af op een derde plaats bij de constructeurs met een achterstand van 367 punten op Mercedes.

Todt zegt in Corriere della Sera: "Ferrari kwam tien procent tekort ten opzichte van Mercedes en drie procent ten opzichte van Red Bull Racing. Dat is niet heel veel. Ferrari was continu in de voorhoede te vinden en behaalde ook successen wanneer er geen problemen waren met de betrouwbaarheid. Als wij net zo betrouwbaar waren geweest als Ferrari tegenwoordig is, dan hadden we in 2006 de titel gewonnen met Michael Schumacher en in 2008 met Felipe Massa."

De Fransman maakt geen woorden vuil aan de huidige Ferrari-voorzitter en directeur Sergio Marchionne. Oud-coureur en analist Marc Surer doet dat tegenover Speed Week wel. "Marchionne zou misschien een goede voetbaltrainer zijn, maar in de Formule 1 werkt het niet om iedereen maar tegen de schenen te schoppen. De Formule 1 is een analytische sport, dat begrijpt hij niet. Hij formuleert steeds eisen en deadlines, maar de Formule 1 werkt niet zo."

      Boven niet nee Stitch maar volgens mij hebben zowel ferrari als fiat-chrysler een raad van bestuur die een aftreden kan afdwingen.. Maar goed, ik gok dat de formule 1 prestaties niet echt van zo'n groot belang zijn om zoiets te doen.

    Jean Todt schijt duidelijk niet in zijn oude nest en zo hoort dat ook.
    Maar wat is "niet heel veel" qua tekortkoming op Mercedes en Red Bull ?
    Die drie procent ten opzichte van Red Bull Racing valt inderdaad nogal mee, maar tien procent tekort ten opzichte van Mercedes is toch best een groot gat.
    En de betrouwbaarheid van de versnellingsbak was afgelopen seizoen toch ook niet echt om blij van te worden.

      Als voorzitter van de FIA moet je je niet uitlaten over een willekeurig team, laat staan je oude eigen team, zo zou het horen m.i..
      En zeker met zijn rol in het niet straffen van VET na zijn meltdown.

      Tuurlijk heeft hij nog steeds een liefde voor Ferrari, maar als je op zijn nivo acteert moet je jezelf niet door journalisten tot dat soort uitspraken laten verleiden.

    Waar baseerd hij uberhaubt die 3 en 10% op? Op basis van punten zul je toch echt heel wat hoger uitkomen.
    Dit klinkt meer als bagatelliseren van het probleem om de mensen thuis en de killing pers wat positiever te stemmen.

    Net even vlug gespiekt, op basis van punten komen ze bijna 50% tekort op mercedes. Steek die zo genoemde 10% dus maar in een klein donker gaatje.

    Todt zou zich als FIA voorzitter niet zo moeten uitspreken over een bepaald team, zeker niet wanneer je er banden mee hebt (gehad). Komt niet zo professioneel over. Het is niet aan hem om uitspraken te doen over prestaties van een team, in elk geval niet in het openbaar.

    Daarbij kan Todt zich maar eens beter richten op de bende die hij de afgelopen heeft veroorzaakt of heeft laten gebeuren. Sinds hij is aangetreden is F1 in een economische en identiteit crisis gekomen, en tot op heden zie ik hem dat niet toegeven, laat staan oplossen.

    En als je je nauwelijks nog laat zien op de F1 paddock, of enigzins aanspreekbaar bent voor pers, en je overduidelijk graag op de FE paddock rondloopt, waar zeer toevallig je eigen zoon rondrijd in een dominant Frans team... Geeft je dat ook wel te denken. Ik zie die Todt maar al te graag verdwijnen. Wanneer zijn er weer FIA verkiezingen? Een man als Brawn of toch maar weer malle Mosley lijken me beter geschrikt voor de job.

      Correctie, wat ik zeo over Nicolas Todt klopt niet, dat neem ik terug. Desalniettemin blijft het wel apart dat waar Jean Todt is, er toch vaak veel Franse invloed te vinden is in die klasses.

      Economische crisis wordt ook veroorzaakt door al dat beurs gehannes en het uitstappen van een aantal autofabrikanten. Identiteitscrisis is al sinds Mosley aan het roer staat/stond :)
