Sauber vestigt hoop op nieuwe F1-eigenaar Liberty

Het team van Sauber verwacht dat de nieuwe Formule 1-eigenaar Liberty Media op zal komen voor de belangen van de kleinere teams. Dat verkondigde teambaas Monisha Kaltenborn op radiozender Deutschlandfunk. De Europese Commissie heeft reeds een klacht van Sauber en Force India over de oneerlijke verdeling van het prijzengeld en het oneerlijk beleid in de Formule 1 in behandeling.

Kaltenborn vestigt haar hoop nu op Liberty Media. "Ik heb het volste vertrouwen dat de Europese Unie deze zaak nog zal behandelen, want in principe is het antwoord op de vraag of er in de Formule 1 sprake is van oneerlijke concurrentie vrij simpel. We blijven pushen voor een eerlijkere situatie en wij denken dat er op dit vlak nog het en een ander zal gebeuren."

"Samen met Force India hebben we ook al een dialoog geopend met Liberty. Voor het eerst komt de Formule 1 onder het bewind van een mediabedrijf te staan, een firma die zijn sporen ook middels investeringen in andere sectoren heeft verdiend. In andere series hebben kleine teams rechten die het belang van die kleine teams onderstrepen. Ik geloof dat we op dit punt nog het nodige te bespreken hebben."

    Die gaan echt een drama seizoen meemaken, he?
    Weinig middelen om een geheel nieuwe auto te ontwerpen en een ouwe motor erin. Die gaan straks 6/7 seconden trager zijn dan de kop van het veld.

      Hoeveel zwakker is de 2016 motor? Dat ze een goed chassis kunnen bouwen hebben ze allang bewezen. Kortom, dat ze zoveel trager zullen zijn als jij stelt is onzin. Maar ik denk dat ze juist vrij snel zullen zijn in het begin. Genoeg om punten te scoren.

      De middelen hebben ze al sinds een paar maanden, aangezien ze overgenomen zijn. Had je dit gemist?

      @Kenju, Sauber was dit jaar toch ook een slap aftreksel.
      Als ze niet meedoen, zou je het niet eens merken.
      Nou misschien als ze weer een een boarding eruit rijden.

      Maar wat Mag Verslappen zegt, Sauber zal ook volgend seizoen lekker voor spek en bonen rijden.

      @Kenju: Wanneer heeft Sauber in godsnaam voor het laatst een goed chassis gebouwt? Dat was waarschijnlijk in de tijd dat Heidfeld en Kubica er reden..

      Ze kunnen dus best wel wat...
      Bovendien hebben ze nu een financiële injectie gekregen, dus wellicht dat er nu ook meer inzit.

      @MAG VERSLAPPEN Vorig jaar is niet representatief. Sauber kon door geldproblemen geen nieuwe auto ontwikkelen. Deze problemen hadden ze eerder ook, maar gingen nu zo ver dat het sportief ook duidelijk te zien was.

      Maar deze problemen hebben ze dus opgelost.

      Nee. Er wordt al jaren gesproken over het prijzengeld en de concorde agreement welke daaraan vooraf gegaan is welke ging over een beursgang die nooit plaatsgevonden heeft. De kleinere teams hadden daar geen kans om een tegen-statement te maken.

      Ik snap wel dat er verschil in inkomsten zit, tussen de teams.
      Als 30.000 mensen voor een bepaald team komen, zullen die meer krijgen dan wanneer er een team mee rijd die niemand zal missen, omdat het momenteel te triest voor woorden is.
      In elke tak van sport heb je financiele verschillen, naar mate je belangrijk bent voor de sport.
      Als Ferrari, Mercedes, Red Bull ermee stopt is het een veel grotere strop dan wanneer een Sauber zou stoppen. ( 13 in een dozijn team )

      Meer gaan wonen in zuid Limburg en dan last hebben van het extra vliegverkeer vanuit Duitsland.

      Sauber kon zich altijd uitstekend bedruipen tot ze werden overgenomen door BMW. Nu ze weer los zijn gegaan van BMW is het elk jaar weer een probleem om financieel rond te komen.

      @XAMVERSTAPPEN: Maar dit betekent niet dat het verschil zo groot moet zijn. Vergeet niet dat dit niet de enige bron van inkomsten is en met een eerlijke verdeling van TV-gelden nog steeds veel rijker zijn. Ze hebben echter ook die kleine teams nodig om een F1-competitie te hebben, dus is het ook voor hen belangrijk dat de kleine teams overleven.

    Als de EU (de politiek) zich er mee gaat bemoeien stappen die Amerikanen er zo snel mogelijk weer uit en investeren ze nog geen dollar-cent..

      In dit geval is politieke inmenging niet vreemd aangezien het om oneerlijke bedrijfsvoering zou gaan (volgens Sauber en Force India (die medestanders gaan krijgen onder de kleine teams wanneer hun idee momentum krijgt).

    Volgens mij weet niemand hoeveel geld er op dit moment gepaard gaat in Sauber. Misschien hebben die lui wel miljoenen zat om een chassis neer te zetten die de eerste helft van het seizoen keurig meedraaid... ik sluit me dus aan bij kenju
