14-jarige Braziliaan in de stal van Nicolas Todt

All Road Management, het managementbureau van Nicolas Todt, gaat de 14-jarige Caio Collet begeleiden. Collet is afkomstig uit Brazilië en hij eindigde dit jaar als zesde in de OK Junior-categorie in het Europees CIK/FIA-kampioenschap in de karts. Todt is ook zaakwaarnemer van onder meer Felipe Massa en Charles Leclerc.

Collet: "Ik ben heel blij om me bij All Road Management te voegen waarmee ik de volgende fase in mijn carrière betreed. Natuurlijk is het mijn droom om door te stoten tot de eenzitters en het ultieme doel is de Formule 1 bereiken. Ik weet dat All Road over de expertise en middelen beschikt om mijn droom te realiseren. Ik kijk ernaar uit om veel van hen te leren en verheug me op een lange en succesvolle samenwerking."

Todt: "We hebben de progressie van Caio de voorbije jaren nauwlettend in de gaten gehouden en we zijn ervan overtuigd dat hij de potentie heeft om het heel ver te schoppen. Echter, hoe hoger op de autosportladder je komt, des te zwaarder het wordt. Daar kan ons concept van total management, waarbij we naar alle details in en naast het rijden kijken, echt het verschil maken."

Ik weet nu al welke kop de Engelse media zullen gebruiken als Caio Collet voor het eerst schade rijdt in de F1, ergens begin jaren twintig: "Colleteral damage"

Ze zijn in Engeland immers dol op woordspelingen.

Nou, als Bernie per se een Braziliaan in de F1 wil, dan moet Massa dus nog vier jaar blijven, want dit manneke is voorlopig te jong. :-)
