David Coulthard: "Leg besluiten van stewards duidelijk uit"

David Coulthard ergert zich aan het feit dat besluiten van de stewards niet grondig genoeg worden uitgelegd en denkt dat dit leidt tot onnodige frustraties bij de fans. De laatste jaren neemt de kritiek op, volgens sommigen, inconsequente beslissingen van de stewards. Coulthard denkt dat bij de uitleg van de regels een voorbeeld dient te worden genomen aan balsporten.

"Als je kijkt naar American Football of rugby, daar overlegt de scheids met een videoarbiter en zijn assistenten en legt hij de genomen beslissing uit," zei Coulthard aan The Independent. "Het enige voordeel dat zij hebben is dat zij het spel stil kunnen leggen om zulke beslissingen te overleggen en uit te leggen. In de Formule 1 kan natuurlijk niet elke ronde een rode vlag gezwaaid worden. Maar het zou heel erg helpen als na de race in ieder geval wordt uitgelegd waarom iets wel of geen overtreding was. Dan krijg je naderhand al een stuk minder discussie."

    Helemaal eens, het was dit seizoen vaak weer compleet willekeurig en dat roept bij mij ook irritatie op ;)

      @WIBI: wat KOBUS hier zegt, is dat je alle regeles kan opschrijven, maar zolang er geen consequente straffen tegenover staan, blijft het een zootje. Dan kan je tien boeken met regels schrijven, het gaat erom daar ook elke keer dezelfde consequenties aan te verbinden.

      En dat ze dan meteen een vaste groep stewards aanstellen. Krijg je meteen ook meer consistentie in de beslissingen, want het zijn steeds dezelfde. En dan liefst met mensen die verstand hebben van en ervaring hebben met F1. Hakkinen of Webber zou ik bijvoorbeeld niet verkeerd vinden, gasten die weten wat F1 racen is en die niet rond de pot draaien. Eventueel uitgesproken straffen zouden dan misschien ook meer aanvaard worden door iedereen, inclusief de fans.

      totaal niet mee eens. Oplossing is simpel, simpele regelgeving. En constant zijn in het uitdelen van straffen dat is de oorzaak. Het is nu veel te vaak het geval dat voor de ene coureur wel een straf word uitgedeeld en voor de ander niet. Je kunt alles wel heel goed uitleggen maar dat veranderd niets aan de inconsistentie. VB Charlie heeft heel goed uitgelegd waarom Max wel straf kreeg toen hij volgens hem voordeel haalde uit het feit dat hij de baan verliet en zo Rosberg achter hem kon houden. Lewis deed het zelfde in de eerste ronde en hij kreeg geen straf.

      De strekking van David zijn verhaal is dat het beter uitgelegd moet worden en daar zie ik niet de oplossing in.

      Ze moeten ook gewoon de regel aangeven die overtreden is. En dan vervolgens de bij behorende straf uitdelen.
      Al die verschillende interpretaties zouden ze weg moeten laten.
      En niet bij elke fout moord en brand schreeuwen maar wat meer als gentlemen gedragen zou ook positief zijn. Zowel de coureurs, de teams als ook de stewards.

      @Boutsen: een vast groep kan als nadeel hebben, dat steeds dezelfde coureurs het haasje zijn. Derek Warwick bijvoorbeeld is behoorlijk negatief tov. Max...

    En geef wel straffen, waardoor iemand ook hinder van ondervindt.... geen tijdstraf uitdelen, terwijl iemand gewoon zijn eigen positie behoudt..... dan heeft straffen geen zin.

    Dit doen ze toch al? Als er een straf wordt uitgedeeld staat er doorgaans duidelijk onder waarom dit gebeurt.

      Ach, Coultard wil weer iets zeggen. Ik schenk al lang niet veel aandacht meer aan die man. Als je keek hoe hij reageerde toen Rosberg kampioen werd. Een beetje een zielig mannetje.
