Nice vernoemt straat naar wijlen Jules Bianchi

Jules Bianchi krijgt in de Franse stad Nice een straat naar zich vernoemd. Het is een eerbetoon aan de in juli 2015 overleden Formule 1-coureur. Bianchi bezweek op 25-jarige leeftijd aan de gevolgen van een zware crash tijdens de Grand Prix van Japan 2014.

Zijn uitvaart vond plaats in Nice, de stad waar hij was opgegroeid, woonachtig was en maandenlang in het ziekenhuis lag. Burgemeester Philippe Pradal en Christian Estrosi, president van de streek Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, hebben nu aangekondigd dat ze een straat naar Bianchi gaan vernoemen.

Tijdens een officiële ceremonie op maandag 23 januari zal de Rue du Sapin omgedoopt worden tot de Bianchistraat. De straat ligt in de wijk Saint-Isidore, een wijk waar sport een grote rol speelt en waar eerder ook al een straat werd vernoemd naar Camille Muffat, de Franse zwemster die in 2015 om het leven kwam bij een helikopterongeluk.

    Overdreven eerbetoon aan een middelmatige F1 coureur die nog niets gepresteerd had in de korte tijd die hij in de F1 zat.

      Niet de meest respectvolle reactie idd... maar het is wel zo dat Jules wel onwijs in de picture staat. Gezien wat hij heeft laten zien, wat natuurlijk redelijk was, maar nu wordt alles wel erg overdreve

      In wat voor zin dan? Ik zeg toch niet dat het mij geen bal uitmaakt dat de beste jongeman het leven liet bij een race incident?

      Ik vond Jules gewoon niet zo'n uitzonderlijke sportman met uitzonderlijke prestaties en helemaal prima als men in Nice daar een straatnaam aan wil besteden, maar qua sportprestaties zie ik niet zo in waarom.

      En dat het zielig is voor hem dat hij overleden is, jazeker, maar dat is het voor zoveel mensen en zeker voor velen met een heel wat minder fortuinlijk leven tot hun sterven.

      Dus ik vind het een beetje gedweep om nou te gaan doen alsof Senna of moeder Teresa heen is gegaan.

      Maar nogmaals, wat is er respectvol aan mijn mening over Jules zijn persoon of prestaties? Dat zijn toch de redenen waarom een straat naar iemand wordt vernoemd, toch niet omdat hij dood is gegaan, dat gaan we namelijk allemaal en velen vrij jong.

      Je zou je kunnen afvragen waarom iemand het altijd nodig vindt om bij zo'n mooie ode kanttekeningen te gaan bedenken, let alone uítspreken.. Maar soi, vrijheid van bullshitmeningsuiting, dus ga je gangetje.

      Dat je hem een middelmatig coureur noemt, tja daar ga je als volger dan wel ff hardnekkig de mist in. Pfff, altijd maar van die gasten die winnende coureurs serieus nemen en degenen daaronder honend middelmatig of zelfs trash noemen, zal er nooit aan wennen. Zit er dan ook zo dik bovenop dat dat soort critici alleen F1 kijken en alle andere klassen als mwoahh betitelen.

      Ere wie verdomme ere toekomt: Jules Bianchi was een van de absolute sterren van zijn generatie, en voorbestemd om snel voor een topteam te gaan rijden. Zijn rise op weg naar F1 is onbetwist indrukwekkend, en ook in de koningklasse deed hij fantastische dingen met het pakket wat hij voorhanden had. Na zijn dramatische dood als jonge ster die nooit de kans heeft gekregen om volledig tot bloei te komen op het hoogste niveau krijgt hij dan uit liefde en respect een tribute van zijn eigen hometown, en ja hoor, de legers hatertjes die alles wel even komen bagatelliseren en in perspectief zetten komen weer aangemarcheerd.

      Ben doodmoe van je Maximo, bah.

      Voor f1 coureurs die hun leven hebben gelaten tijdens een gp weekend gelden andere regels vind ik.
      Die verdienen sowieso een mooi eerbetoon ipv enkel en alleen kijkend naar de resultaten die ze hebben bereikt.
      Zo is natuurlijk Senna een held, maar zeker ook jongens als Ratzenberger en Bianchi...
      Dat is althans hoe ik het zie..
