Japans avontuur voor GP2-kampioen Pierre Gasly

Pierre Gasly legt dezelfde route af als Stoffel Vandoorne. Net als de Belg vorig jaar vervolgt hij zijn loopbaan na het winnen van de GP2-titel in de Japanse Super Formula. Het team waar de Fransman voor uit zal komen is nog niet bekend.

Gasly kan niet wachten om aan de slag te gaan in de Super Formula. "Het wordt heel anders. Ik heb geen ervaring met de auto of de circuits en ik weet dat de Japanse cultuur, filosofie, werkwijze en eigenlijk alles anders is wat ik gewend ben. Het is een fantastische nieuwe uitdaging, daar hou ik van."

Red Bull kondigde vandaag de coureurs aan die in 2017 tot het Red Bull Junior Team behoren. Naast Gasly zijn dat Niko Kari, Richard Verschoor, Neil Verhagen en Dan Ticktum. Verhagen en Ticktum zijn nieuw in het opleidingsprogramma van Red Bull.
