Haas F1 beslist na tests over de remleverancier

Haas F1 Team hakt na de wintertests in Barcelona pas de knoop door over de remleverancier voor komend seizoen. De Amerikaanse renstal reed vorig jaar met remmen van Brembo. Haas F1 kampte echter veelvuldig met remproblemen, waardoor het team in de laatste Grand Prix-weekenden van 2016 al de remmen van Carbon Industrie uitprobeerde.

Het geëxperimenteer gaat in de tests ter voorbereiding op de nieuwe jaargang verder, zo laat teambaas Günther Steiner aan ESPN F1 weten. "Wat de remleverancier betreft, we zullen een parallel testprogramma afwerken om te bepalen welke kant we opgaan. We nemen een beslissing na de twee testweken op het Circuit de Catalunya bij Barcelona."

"We kunnen beide kanten op, daar hebben we voorbereidingen voor getroffen. We hebben dus opties en dat was altijd het doel. We hebben niemand laten vallen. We wilden gewoon weten wat er nog meer te halen was op de markt en of andere leveranciers een product hebben dat beter bij ons past. We weten het nog niet, we zijn er nog niet uit."

Daarom gaan ze bij Haas ook niet over één nacht ijs en gebruiken ze de testdagen om voor de beste oplossing te kiezen. Solide opstelling van Haas.
