Renault onder de indruk van vooruitgang Honda

Honda heeft tijdens het tweede seizoen terug in de Formule 1 enorm veel progressie geboekt. Dat complimentje is afkomstig van concurrent Renault. Technisch directeur Bob Bell is van mening dat Honda vorig jaar geweldig werk geleverd heeft door af te rekenen met het matige 2015.

"De vooruitgang van Honda is indrukwekkend geweest", steekt Bell van wal tegenover Autosport. "Ze hebben puik werk geleverd en het is mooi om te zien dat ze opkrabbelen. Het is belangrijk voor de Formule 1 dat alle motorleveranciers een graantje meepikken en vooraan meedraaien, want voor autofabrikanten is de krachtbron van groter belang dan het chassis. Autofabrikanten zijn belangrijk voor de Formule 1 en om in deze sport te blijven, moeten ze het gevoel hebben dat ze competitief zijn."

Honda is er echter nog lang niet, geeft Yusuke Hasegawa toe. Al antwoordde hij op de vraag van Autosport of het gat te overbruggen is: "Ik geloof van wel. Wat de aandrijflijn betreft, we hebben onszelf doelen gesteld op basis van de geschatte cijfers van Mercedes en Ferrari. De doelstelling is om in 2017 op gelijke hoogte te komen met hen, maar het is lastig in te schatten hoeveel zij erop vooruit gaan voor komend seizoen."

    Honda heeft zeker progressie geboekt maar de stap van Renault was vele malen groter in mijn optiek. Tenzij Mclaren een stap achteruit heeft gedaan met chassis.....

      De Honda is qua power en betrouwbaarheid wel ernstig vooruit gegaan (zelfs meer power dan de Renault, zo gaan de geruchten), maar daar heb je niet zoveel aan als je hem in de wedstrijden moet terugschroeven vanwege het brandstofverbruik wat nog altijd de achilleshiel van de Honda is.

      Dat is ook vaak het geval (met name op hoge snelheidsbanen hebben ze het zwaar in de races). Op plekken als Monaco, waar Fuel consumption geen issue is, zijn ze veel sterker door het hele weekend heen.

      Niek, dank voor reactie. Ik vind het gewoon geen persoonlijkheid (marketing technisch) en geen buitengewoon goede coureur. Dat tezamen irt het jaarsalaris dat hij verdiende doet mij tot die conclusie komen. Uiteraard is dit slechts mijn mening :)

      Honda heeft zeker progressie geboekt. In het begin van het seizoen viel het een beetje tegen maar ze hebben het daarna zeker weer goed opgepakt. In 2015 zag je dat ze meer langs de kant zaten dan dat ze op de baan te vinden waren. Maar dat was in 2016 niet het gevalt. Ik vind McLaren echt een mooie team.

      Tsja Button hij is echt niet een slechte courreur. Hij kan zeker wel een potje sturen je moet niet vergeten hij heeft Alonse naast zich en dat is toch wel een courreur met vele betere kwaliteiten en toch vind ik dat Button het helemaal niet verkeerd heeft gedaan.

      Het is geen type Lewis, dat ben ik met je eens Drunt. Maar Jenson heeft wel een leuk karakter en was zeker een aanwinst voor de paddock wat dat betreft, mocht je me niet geloven kijk dan Ted's Notebook van de laatste race terug. Leuke gozer..

      En wat het racen betreft. Hij is een jaar te lang doorgegaan, maar de McLaren's van 2013-15 waren dan ook ruk. Daarvoor liet hij hele mooie dingen zien en was niet zo veel langzamer dan Hamilton..

    Het gat met mercedes en ferrari dichten lijkt me een inmense sprong voorwaarts tov 2016. Wishfull thinking in mijn optiek.
    Maar ach, we zitten in het off season, en ieder team roept (te)optimistische berichten, het hoort er een beetje bij.

    jeminee dit is een oud bericht. honda gaat een nieuwe motor bouwen, ze verlaten het size zero concept en gaan mercedes achterna.
    dus alle progressie van vorig jaar is gewoon oud nieuws, ik dacht dat dit bericht daar over ging maar helaas.
