Renault kondigt BP/Castrol aan als nieuwe partner

Het team van Renault heeft BP aan de haak geslagen als nieuwe partner. BP zal de Franse renstal via het merk Castrol voorzien van olie- en smeermiddelen. De Britse oliemaatschappij heeft een vijfjarig contract gesloten met Renault.

Renault-directeur Cyril Abiteboul: "Bij BP en Castrol zijn ze zeer enthousiast over de uitdagingen die de Formule 1 ze voorschotelt. We zijn ervan overtuigd dat zij ons zullen helpen bij het verwezenlijken van onze doelen met de nieuwe auto in 2017 en de jaren daarna."

Mandir Singh van BP: "De visie die Renault heeft om uit te groeien tot beste team in de Formule 1 is iets waar wij als BP en Castrol met trots deel van uit zullen maken. Samen zullen we werken aan innovatieve oplossingen en het schrijven van een nieuw succesverhaal."

    Opvallend... Total en Renault, 2 Franse bedrijven die ooit zo nauw samen werkten.lijkt me wel wennen, Renault samen met BP/Castrol.

      TOTAL is aan een reorganisatie bezig, zo ook op vlak van investeringen.
      Ze hebben de laatste jaren bijzonder veel € gestoken in allerlei sponsor/partnerships.
      Dat wordt nu teruggeschroefd.

      En je zal zien dat ze binnen enkele jaren de kraan weer openzetten :)

    Kunnen we hieruit dan ook opmaken dat McLaren nog steeds geen prominente sponser heeft voor volgend jaar? Ik hoorde namelijk enkele geruchten over Castrol als sponsor

      McLaren heeft ook een verband met BP/Castrol, maar deze is niet zo intensief als tussen BP en Renault. Renault zoekt echt naar een soort samenwerking die Mercedes ook met Petronas heeft. Bij McLaren gaat het meer om de levering van zaken en wordt er niet echt gezamenlijk ontwikkeld.

    RB rijdt vanaf dit seizoen toch met ExxonMobil en Esso als sponser en als leverancier van brandstof en smeermiddelen? Hoop dat dat goed gaat twee verschillende leveranciers voor dezelfde motor

      Wordt gewoon op aangepast en geleverd. Ik denk dat de deal met BP gewoon exclusief is en dat samen met BP gewerkt gaat worden om vloeistoffen voor de auto te ontwikkelen.

      RedBull krijgt gewoon vloeistoffen geleverd plus wat geld voor de auto en qua ontwikkeling wordt er verder weinig gedaan.

      't Is jou dus ook opgevallen dat het Engelse "Excited" continue met opgewonden in het Nederlands wordt vertaald. Het moet gewoon enthousiast zijn, zoals jij ook al schrijft.

      Waarschijnlijk vertaald door een bot maar het eventjes nalezen door een (eind)redacteur is geen overbodige luxe. En dan enthousiast opnemen in de woordenlijst van die bot a.u.b.

      Ligt eraan hoe groot het is. Ik vind de Castrol-racers altijd wel tof. De Castrol Honda uit de Superbike, de Celica uit het WRC, die kleuren van Castrol passen perfect in de racerij.

      Maar goed, dit zullen we hier wel niet gaan zien, aangezien ze geen hoofdsponsor zijn.
