Jeroen Bleekemolen op het podium in Daytona

Jeroen Bleekemolen heeft samen met teamgenoten Ben Keating, Mario Farnbacher en Adam Christodolou een knap resultaat behaald in de 24 uur van Daytona. Het viertal kwam als twintigste algemeen en als derde in de GT Daytona-klasse over de streep.

Er was meer Nederlands succes in de beroemde 24 uurs-race op de Daytona Motor Speedway. Renger van der Zande behaalde samen met stalgenoten Marc Goossens en Rene Rast een mooie derde plaats algemeen. Ze moesten alleen de twee Cadillacs voor zich dulden.

De eindzege ging naar Max Angelelli, Jeff Gordon en de broers Jordan en Ricky Taylor. De overwinning was controversieel omdat Ricky Taylor met nog zeven minuten te gaan de auto van Felipe Albuquerque aantikte in de eerste bocht. Albuquerque spinde maar kon zijn weg wel vervolgen en finishte nog als tweede.
