De 24 uur van Daytone kreeg een controversiële ontknoping. Filipe Albuquerque reed namens Cadillac aan de leiding, maar zeven minuten voor het einde deed Ricky Taylor in de andere Cadillac een aanval op de koppositie. Hij probeerde in bocht 1 binnendoor te duiken, maar hij moest van te ver komen. Taylor raakte Albuquerque, die daardoor spinde. Beiden konden hun weg vervolgen, maar de volgorde was wel omgedraaid. Taylor won in Daytona, voor Albuquerque.
