Silverstone brainstormt over extra inkomsten

Bij het circuit van Silverstone is de sfeer optimistisch na de wisseling van de wacht in de Formule 1. Nieuwe eigenaar Liberty Media zou de Grand Prix-organisatoren meer vrijheid geven om extra inkomsten te genereren dan Bernie Ecclestone deed. Op die manier moet het voor promotors en circuits mogelijk zijn om de torenhoge kosten voor een Formule 1-race op te hoesten.

Silverstone-eigenaar BRDC ziet volop mogelijkheden. BRDC-voorzitter Derek Warwick: "We zijn enthousiast over de nieuwe eigenaar en de nieuwe directie voor de Formule 1. We denken niet dat onze fee hierdoor omlaag gaat, dus we moeten op zoek naar manieren om onze inkomsten te vergroten."

"Het was waarschijnlijk de juiste tijd voor Bernie Ecclestone om een stapje opzij te doen. Het is mooi dat we nu nieuwe mogelijkheden en nieuwe energie hebben om een andere richting op te gaan. Misschien kunnen we meer pit walks of grotere concerten organiseren, meer sponsors binnen hengelen, bochtennamen verkopen. Er zijn veel dingen die we kunnen veranderen waar we onder het oude bewind niets mee mochten doen."

    uitbreiden van het programma dat lijkt mij wel wat zoals chase Carey zegt een week lang activiteiten op en rond het circuit dan komen die ticket prijzen ook in een ander licht te staan en bovendien profiteerd de middenstand in de omgeving dan ook eens

    Liberty zal de prijzen [Fee] niet omlaag brengen, die hebben alles allang berekend met plan van aanpak.
    Ze zitten er om geld te verdienen, links of rechts om, maar als ze inderdaad de circuits veel meer vrijheid geven dan komen er vanzelf meer inkomsten.

    Ik wist het wel als ik directeur was van een circuit. Ik liet de teams een gigantisch bedrag betalen om op het circuit tekomen, een parkingfee per m2. Ik haalde de F1 fee die ik moest betalen minstens voor de helft terug bij de teams.

    Tekort in 2015...5 miljoen Britse ponden.
    Tekort in 2016... 5 miljoen Britse ponden.
    Ik weet niet welke artiest je daarvoor moet binnenhalen om dat verschil te compenseren.
    De F1 fan heeft zijn geld al uitgegeven (vliegreis, hotel, entree) en gaat echt niet nog eens ff 3 dagen extra geld uitgeven.
