'Nieuwe reglementen spelen topteams in de kaart'

De regels voor 2017 zijn in het voordeel van topteams als Mercedes en Red Bull Racing. Dat verkondigde Luca Furbatto op de blog van journalist Leo Turrini. Furbatto werkte in het verleden als ontwerper in de Formule 1 voor teams als McLaren, Scuderia Toro Rosso en Manor.

"De nieuwe reglementen spelen de topteams in de kaart", begint hij. "Mercedes en Red Bull zullen altijd een beter chassis bouwen dan de renstallen met meer bescheiden middelen. Auto's die meer downforce genereren en meer grip hebben, vergroten de verschillen alleen maar, terwijl iedereen toch hoopte dat het andersom zou zijn."

"Ik denk niet dat de veranderingen de Formule 1 ten goede komen, ook niet op gebied van motoren. Sterker nog, ik vrees dat het juist een verslechtering betekent. In 2017 zal een groter percentage van een rondje vol gas zijn, waardoor het voordeel voor het team met de beste krachtbron alleen maar toeneemt."

"Ik wil de nieuwe reglementen niet bekritiseren, maar ik ga af op objectieve data en de resultaten van berekeningen. Entertainment is in mijn ogen niet gerelateerd aan snelheid. Op Mugello is de MotoGP bijvoorbeeld 25 seconden per rondje langzamer dan een Formule 1-auto, maar ik kan niet zeggen dat een MotoGP-race minder spectaculair is."

Tja ik vind toch dat hij de spijker op zijn kop slaat met zijn blog. Maar we zullen zien. Ik hoop het tegenovergestelde.

    Tja ik vind toch dat hij de spijker op zijn kop slaat met zijn blog. Maar we zullen zien. Ik hoop het tegenovergestelde.

      Wat een vergelijk, 2 wielers of 4 wielers, dat is een wereld van verschil. Ik vind het een zwakke argumentatie gebaseerd op persoonlijke aannames. Laten we eerst nu maar eens afwachten wat het nieuwe seizoen gaat brengen en dan pas een oordeel vellen. Het begint steeds meer op het voorspellen van het weer te lijken.

      Ongeacht of die vergelijking op zijn plaats is, vind ik toch dat hij een punt heeft bij het 'groter percentage van een rondje vol gas' en 'Mercedes en Red Bull zullen altijd een beter chassis bouwen dan de renstallen met meer bescheiden middelen'.

      Voorspellen van het weer? Gewoon een beetje logisch nadenken. Mercedes steeks er straks met kop en schouders bovenuit. Hamilton wordt met 2 vingers in zijn neus kampioen omdat Bottas hem niet bij kan benen. Op naar 2018 ;)

      sins wanneer is iets logisch te noemen binnen de F1. En al helemaal niet na deze grote veranderingen. Wacht nu eerst maar eens even af voordat je hoog van de toren begint te blazen.

      Dat doe ik al bijna mijn hele leven,aanradertje ;) Trouwens de hoogste topsnelheid is "slechts" 355 kmh op Mugello, gereden in de race door "The Maniac" op z'n Ducati.

    De volgende die de nieuwe regels een achteruitgang vindt. Ik moet het nog zien, ik denk niet dat Mercedes weer zo dominant zal zijn. Als de krachtbron zo belangrijk wordt dan zie ik Ferrari ook een stap voorwaarts maken. Zou mooi zijn als we weer een jaar als 2011 krijgen, eerst 7 winnaars uniek en ook nog eens van verschillende teams.

      2012 was dat inderdaad de eerste 7 wedstrijden 7 verschillende winnaars

    Het is gewoon een kwestie van gezond verstand. Snellere rondetijden zijn vooral bedoeld om F1 tegen andere klassen af te zetten. In 2014 was de top van GP2 net zo snel als de onderkant van F1, en dat was geen goede zaak.
    Maar hoe de nieuwe regels tot meer competitie leiden is mij vooralsnog ook een raadsel. Dat lukt alleen met maatregelen die het veld meer bij elkaar houden, maar dat verdomt men gewoon, dat is nou wel langzamerhand bekend. Kortom, ik zou mijn verwachtingen niet al te hooggespannen houden.

    Vergeet het verschil in Motorvermogen niet. Renault zal haar best doen, zeker en vast. Combi moet goed zijn. RB moet gehele pakket op orde moeten hebben!

      Nou het zijn allebei race klassen. En dat bij de MotoGP de spektakel groter is dan bij de Formule1.

      Het zijn allebei race klassen, en daar houd het vergelijk dan ook op.
      Inhalen op een motor is nou eenmaal makkelijker dan met een auto.
      De aërodynamica van een motor is veel minder van invloed, geen vleugels die voor neerwaardse druk zorgen. Topsnelheid en mechanische grip is meest bepalend in de moto GP. Goed omgaan met je banden is minstens zo belangrijk.

      @NICOS, ze hadden toch echt Winglets dit jaar. Bovendien zijn er wel vergelijken te maken. Een geraffineerde auto als Red Bull kan je vergelijken met een Yamaha daar tegenover een aerodynamisch drama als Williams kan zich vergelijken met een Ducati qua handeling. Daar hield het ook wel op qua vergelijk maar het komt beide neer op drivability vs pure power. En ja sommigen waarderen dat nog om te lezen ook.

      Ik doel op hetgeen hij zegt over verschil in rondetijden. Dit is appels met peren vergelijken. En gevechten zoals je ze ziet met motoren zijn gewoonweg niet mogelijk met een 4 wieler. Deze zijn per defenitie spectaculairder met een motor, dus niet te vergelijken.

    2017 word een seizoen met wederom een 2 in 1 competitie. 2 teams met FRIC en de rest zonder FRIC. De nieuwe regels zijn er enkel om de auto's er beter uit te laten zien en de andere open wiel klassen qua rondetijd voor te blijven.

    Een eerlijkere en spannendere competitie maakt wellicht pas zijn rentree begin in 2018 als Ross Brawn doet wat er van hem verwacht word. Of 2020 met de nieuwe concorde agreement met meer geld voor de niet top teams en een budget limiet in welke vorm dan ook.

    Gelukkig zit Max bij een van de FRIC teams, dat dan weer wel :)

    Het is ook wel heel makkelijk om het verhaal van iemand die midden in de cijfers zit of gezeten heeft, af te doen als "onzin/we moeten het nog zien/wéér iemand negatief over de nieuwe regels".
    Het valt me op dat de positieve reacties uit de F1-wereld over de nieuwe regels, voornamelijk komen van topteams of coureurs (uit topteams). De meeste fans vinden onderhand ook dat ze maar eens kei kapot uit die wagen moeten stappen na 2 uur Spa bv.
    Maar goed, ondanks dat de verschillen tussen Mercedes en RB of Ferrari kleiner zullen worden of niet, denk ik wel dat ie wel een punt maakt. De achterhoede zal misschien wel verder achterop raken komend seizoen. (zoals zo vaak bij nieuwe technische regels die sneller komen dan dat de rest tijd heeft om te nivelleren)
