Di Resta ook in 2017 reservecoureur van Williams

Het team van Williams heeft het contract van reserverijder Paul di Resta verlengd. De Schot combineert zijn werkzaamheden voor de Britse renstal met racen voor Mercedes in de DTM. Di Resta maakte in 2011 zijn Formule 1-debuut en reed drie seizoenen voor Force India.

Vice-teambaas Claire Williams: "Het is geweldig voor ons om iemand met de ervaring van Paul voor het team te behouden. Zijn kennis van de Formule 1 zal opnieuw waardevol voor ons zijn, zeker gezien de regelveranderingen voor 2017. Paul heeft vorig jaar zijn toegevoegde waarde bewezen en het is geweldig dat we ook komend seizoen met elkaar samenwerken."

Di Resta: "Het doet me deugd om als reservecoureur onderdeel uit te blijven maken van Williams. Ik kijk ernaar uit om me de nieuwe besturing en de procedures voor de FW40 en de nieuwe regels eigen te maken. Ik wil Claire en iedereen bij Williams bedanken voor de onophoudelijke steun."
