Ferrari stalt Armstrong en Fittipaldi in Formule 4

Ferrari heeft het programma voor talenten Marcus Armstrong en Enzo Fittipaldi bekendgemaakt. De Scuderia laat de twee jongelingen dit jaar ervaring opdoen in de Formule 4. De 16-jarige Armstrong combineert het Italiaanse met het Duitse kampioenschap. De 15-jarige Fittipaldi concentreert zich volledig op de Italiaanse Formule 4.

Beiden zullen voor Prema racen. Armstrong: "Ik ben verguld om in 2017 met Prema Powerteam samen te werken. Het barst binnen deze renstal van de kennis en ervaring, en het is fantastisch om dezelfde ambitie te delen. We zijn allebei hongerig naar succes, dat bevalt me zo aan Prema. Dit team heeft een geweldige reputatie en ik kan niet wachten om te leren en te groeien bij Prema."

Fittipaldi, de kleinzoon van tweevoudig wereldkampioen Formule 1 Emerson Fittipaldi: "Ik ben heel blij en vereerd om te racen voor Prema en onderdeel uit te maken van de Ferrari Driver Academy. Als rookie heb ik dit jaar een hoop te leren, maar desalniettemin ben ik zeer gemotiveerd en kijk ik uit naar het komende seizoen."

Hahaha Emerson zou tegenwoordig niet eens een licentie krijgen met die looks van hem. Gelukkig zag iedereen er in die tijd uit alsof hij zojuist uit een gecrashte en verbrandde Brabham was gestapt en viel het niet zo op.
