Geen nieuwe livery voor de Renault

Geruchten staken de kop op dat Renault bij de start van het seizoen in Melbourne mogelijk met een nieuwe livery op de baan zou komen. De renstal heeft die geruchten direct en resoluut de kop in gedrukt.

Renault keerde vorig jaar terug in de Formule 1 bij de constructeurs en veranderde destijds wel van livery. Er werd met een volledig zwarte auto getest om vervolgens in een volledig gele wagen het kampioenschap te rijden. Afgelopen dinsdag presenteerde Renault de RS17 met een zwart-gele livery. Maar een woordvoerder van het team is duidelijk: "De geruchten zijn op niets gebaseerd."

Het team heeft hoge verwachtingen in het jubileumjaar. Renault Sport-voorzitter Jerome Stoll verwacht voor komend seizoen een top vijf-klassering bij de constructeurs.

      Simpelste of niet ik vind dat Renault de mooiste livery heeft tot nu toe.
      Alleen de pakkies die de courreurs aan hebben vind ik helemaal niks.

      Ja, de livery is tot nu toe de mooiste van 2017. Vorig jaar was het ook een ander verhaal, toen was de auto ook inderdaad voor 97% zwart en kon je op je klompen aanvoelen dat het tijdelijk zou zijn en Renault gaf destijds zelf aan dat de livery na de wintertests nog kon (of zou) veranderen. Toen wisten we genoeg.
      Aan de huidige livery kun je tevens zien dat er van A tot Z over is nagedacht.

      Hulkenberg en Palmer waren joggend naar Barcelona gekomen, daarom de gele joggingbroeken.

    Deze livery is veel mooier dan die van vorig jaar, en het ziet zwart er ook cool uit icm de dikke banden.

    5e plek = Hoge verwachtingen? Dat is zo'n beetje Toro Rosso niveau, als dat niet haalbaar is in het 2e jaar van een fabrieksteam dan mag je je diep schamen.

      Waar Renault vandaan komt is een 5de plek wel een goede verbetering.

      Merc, RB, Ferrari staan er sowieso al voor en dan heb je nog te maken met McLaren, FI, Williams & TR. 5de plek zou je in mijn ogen kunnen omschrijven als uitgangspunt goed resultaat en 4de als hoge verwachting.

      @DC. Vijfde zou wel eens hun top kunnen zijn voor 2017, fabrieksteam of niet. Denk trouwens dat het een potentieel topteam is maar dit jaar nog niet écht top.
      Gok(!) dat naast de top drie McLaren en waarschijnlijk Force India boven ze eindigen, dan mag Renault het uitvechten met Toro Rosso om plaats zes als ik goed geteld heb.
