Force India-teambaas Mallya haalt uit naar pers in eigen land

Force India-teambaas Vijay Mallya heeft hard uit gehaald naar de pers in India. De tirade komt kort nadat het team de nieuwe wagen voor 2017 presenteerde: de VJM10. De omstreden zakenman zegt dat de media in zijn thuisland het belangrijker vindt om hem aan te pakken dan dat zij trots zijn op de prestaties van het Formule 1-team.

India deed enige tijd geleden een nieuw verzoek om de omstreden zakenman uitgeleverd te krijgen. Mallya moet zich dan verantwoorden voor het faillissement van Kingfisher Airlines. De vliegtuigmaatschappij zou een schuld van 1,4 miljard pond hebben achtergelaten.

Maar Mallya richt zich vooral op het nieuwe seizoen en heeft ook nog een boodschap voor Renault-directeur Cyril Abiteboul die zei twijfels te hebben of Force India in 2017 wel mee kan komen met alle nieuwe ontwikkelingen. "Veel geluk voor hem, hij kon zijn woorden wel eens moeten inslikken,” aldus Vijay Mallya.

Maar dat is dus waarschijnlijk niet de grootste strijd die hij moet voeren het komende jaar. De krant Times of India zegt dat de gesprekken met Groot-Brittannië om hem uit te leveren in een vergevorderd stadium zijn. Dat bracht Mallya tot de volgende uitspraken op Twitter:

      Er zijn zelfs kinderen in dienst die elke gp meereizen en niks anders doen dan het personeel ter dienste staan.
      Tijdens de lunch krijg je curry's voorgeschoteld waar een brandblusser bijgeleverd wordt.
      Zodra het weekend voorbij is rijden de vrachtwagens overbeladen aan de verkeerde kant van de weg rücksichtslos naar de volgende gp.
      Het personeel is ingedeeld volgens een kaste systeem en de schoonmaker wordt na zijn dienst zelf als voetveeg gebruikt. Dus ja, je vraagt het mij, ik denk wel aan India ja als ik aan FI denk.

    @Roy. Bij Force India denk ik altijd impulsief aan een broodje bratwurst belegd met escargots op een bedje van beukennootjes mos en afgeblust met rode azijnwijn. Jij ook zeker?

      Hij heeft die schuld niet persoonlijk. Hij wordt in India verdacht van praktijken waardoor hij geld schuldig is. Maar geld schuldig zijn en een schuld hebben zijn twee verschillende dingen.

    Mijn mening is dat wanneer je niet komt opdagen bij een rechtszaak dat het is : A - ik vind het wel goed en kom maar op met die boete want het interesseert me eigenlijk niet of : B - je weet donders goed dat je heel erg fout zit en probeert om zo lang mogelijk uit handen van justitie te blijven.

    Mensen die niks te verbergen hebben en weten dat ze onschuldig zijn komen zichzelf verdedigen tegenover een rechtbank.
