Danny Sullivan draaft in Singapore voor de tweede maal dit jaar op als assistent voor de racestewards. De Amerikaan deed eerder in Duitsland al dienst als vierde steward.

Sullivan reed in 1983 een seizoen bij Tyrrell en scoorde in Monaco dat jaar zijn beste resultaat met een vijfde plaats. Zijn grootste successen vierde hij in de Verenigde Staten. In 1985 schreef Sullivan de Indy 500 op zijn naam en in 1988 won hij de C ART Champ Car-titel.
