Nico Hulkenberg werd door de pers opgevangen na een goede ochtendsessie en hij was dus in een goede bui.

Nico Hulkenberg werd gecomplimenteerd met zijn tijd onder de 1:20 en de Renault-coureur antwoord dat het inderdaad een kwalitatief goede ochtend was. Hulkenberg: "We hebben niet de meeste ronden afgelegd, maar wel goed werk verricht vanochtend en weer goede stappen gemaakt."

De Duitser sluit met een positief gevoel de wintertest in Barcelona af en kijkt uit om naar Melbourne te gaan. Op de vraag hoe goed de auto is zegt hij: "We hebben met een laag brandstoflevel gereden om te kijken wat de performance is, maar dat doet de rest natuurlijk ook", aldus Hulkenberg. "Maar we hebben nog wel wat achter de hand, maar het is interessant om te zien waar we staan."

Hij sluit af met de opmerking dat het team vooral op zichzelf moet focussen om zo goed mogelijk voor de dag te komen in Australië.
